So do I, because this thread is about Independence Day and will not turn into an Anti-American diatribe. Any posts that are argumentative will be removed. The Canada Day thread was given the respect it deserved, and so will this one.

Happy July 4th, guys. Don't light off TOO many fireworks now.

We go down to Maryland to get fireworks every year. This year we got 70 cases, thats right, 70 cases. And we're not talking sparklers here. The salesman even asked us who we were planning on selling them to, and we had to inform him that we were setting them off. The laws about fireworks are weird too. Its illegal for people who live in Maryland to buy fireworks in Maryland, but people from out of state can buy whatever they like, including professional grade rockets that resemble something out of Rambo. Its the same way in Pennsylvania. You can only buy low grade frieworks in PA if you live there, but out of state can go wild.

Its a family tradition. Every year we set off a serious fireworks display
for our reunion that we host. Our teenage cousins set up the whole thing under our direction and then they set it off once its dark. The show has actually become somewhat known in our area and when you look around the side streets and church parking lot behind us, you can see cars line up to watch.

Ah, there's nothing better to celebrate America's birthday that taking a calculated risk to your health to blow stuff up... :D

You think we'd turn this into an anti-American thread? Give us more credit than that.

Have a great 4th of July, everyone.

It was actually Randy Quaid, but I'll let that one slide...

Its been a pretty boring 4th around here...im not going to see any fireworks, and I cant really light anything off because pretty much everything except maybe sparklers are illegal in Illinois. I do still have some bottle rockets I could light off from years past, but then I run the risk of getting caught...meh.

Haven't checked in a while, but happy July 4th! I'm hanging out in Madison, Wisconsin on the Spinto Band's first day off in about ten days and it feels very good to do nothing but drink beer and eat Hamburgers and such after driving for about 30% of my life for the last few weeks.

Have a good one everyone!

That didnt stop anyone in LA from doing it. Happy 4th everyone!

The day was great for me. Was in a parade. Was on TV. Got to shake hands, talk to, and take pictures with the new Mayor. Had a pool party with some buds. Watched the city firework show. Got invited to a KKK party ( Weird ). Lit off some firecrackers with some other people and met some new ones. Enjoyed Independence day.

Tomorrow is Bastille Day here in France! Mad parties tonight and hungover parades tomorrow. Isn't life grand?
