So, my mom sent me this link. She was looking at jobs at the CIA because my dad said that foreign language and math is a good combination for working in government. That happens to be the degree I have. This is what she found.

http://www.cia.gov/employment/jobs/foreign_lang_instr.html

So, the pay is amazing and benefits are countless. And in about 5 years I will have all of the necessary requirements (after I have taught for a few years). What do you all think? Should I work for the CIA?

Lots of money and benefits.

I don't see why not.

:D The only downside is that I would have to move to Washington, DC. I am not sure about moving to that city alone.

Granted, I am going to Germany alone. But that is only for 4 months. This would be a long term thing.

If you really think it'd be a good idea then sure go ahead.

How exactly is a salary of $48,000 to $58,000 amazing? It's pretty good... but normally you can make more in the private sector than the government.

When are you going to Germany? And what part? I'm probably moving to Germany sometime in the summer to live with my sister and brother-in-law for a while.

Anyways, I say take the job.

CIA works in Langley, VA not Washington...

also.. The gov't will take care of you... they will... or they'll kill you.

CIA, eh?

if you can get your hands on some folders with the words "TOP SECRET" written on them then i would say take the job :p

other than thatm Bond is right...you can get a much better salary in the private sector.

but as for the benefits...definetly government job.

When you consider that I am going to be a teacher and normally my salary would be around $27000, then $48000 is amazing.

And the job description says washington.

I am going to Germany from January 2006 to May 2006.
