As long as you can't zoom into people's houses or see live video maps, this will be a resourceful tool. Although that would be cool.

Picture, and its basically the same pics as those on maps.google.com except you can use it for directions, addresses for locations like restaurants, bars, schools, hospitals, parks, etc. etc. Some city's even have 3D models made for them like New York, LA, Las Vegas, and even Memphis!

As of now, no. US Cities were first to be digitalized, but I'm sure that the worlds major cities will be added sooner or later once the program becomes more popular.

The terrain is also 3D. Like, Vancouver is in a big Valley, and it shows up as such on the map. The buildings are still all flat for us, though.

Someday Google Earth will evolve into a free 3D map of the entire world. Detail so great that you'll be awe struck a little. (ie: right down to the lines on the road :p )
