Yeah, i heard that this one would be tons better than the first one, also when is this slated for release?
Joeiss

It is supposed to be released in May, I believe.
Damn spoilers... I am not going to read those. I want the movie to be a true experience!
And all of the Star Wars movies have been great... So that claim of Stu's is probably the claim of everybody else's as well.

 Star Wars is awesome. I liked all of them, Episode 1 being my least favorite, Episode 6 being most favorite. Hopefully though, Episode 2 will be my new favorite. I won't watch anything more than I have to so that it's a totally awesome experience in hte movies.
The best thing I remember hearing about Episode 2 is from George Lucas (I think), he said, "Episode 2 will have a lightsaber duel to end all lightsaber duels." :D Oh yeah!!
Speaking of lightsaber duels, Jedi Outcast for PC will be awesome!!

Then why are you posting here? You've added nothing constructive to this conversation. Post crammer...
Anyway, yeah, I'm glad Lucas threw N'Sync out of the final cut. I hope you're right about the Lightsaber battle Yoda, I'm excited already! The only stuff I'll be watching are trailers that come out. No reviews for me until after the movie. :D

I don't even want to watch trailers. That's like watching the movie in small clips. It's gonna be hard to resist everything though.

Stupid thing: It seems that the episodes 1 and 2 are far more advanced (If you watch the episode 2 previews you will see all the flying cards hi-tech stuff) then the episodes 4, 5, and 6. Hmm, 3 better say something about a huge war destoying all this.

YES!!! Star wars rocks! But episode 1 kinda sucked, but episode 2 looks better, and thank god they cut NSync...my god what the hell was george lucas thinking...
Episode 6 was the best, at the end when luke sees his dad, yoda, and obi One standing there...great...

Although I prefer "Star Trek" to "Star Wars", I still love both TV Series/Movies (yes Star Trek has movies). SW: Episode I was a huge let-down and it came out around the same time as the last Star Trek movie, which was just as dissapointing. Ironicalkly both "SW: Episode II Attack of The Clones", and "Star Trek: Nemesis", the tenth Star Trek movie, are both coming out around the same time, and will bothy deal with clones. If anybody remember the Original Name of "SW: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi", you wqould remember that the original title was "SW: Episode VI: REvenge of the Jedi", this was changed, because aropund the same time Paramount pictures was releasing a new "Star Trek" movie called "Star Trek II: Ther Revenge of Khan", paramount also changed the name of their movie to "Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan", which removed the word "revenge" from both titles, because they were too similar, I wonder if anything like this will happen with "SW: Atack of the Clones", or "ST: Nemesis".
I saw the trailer for "SW: AOTC" on Fox after The X-Files, and I was blwon away, and I'm already planning to see it, I even watched the Trailer again on my computer, because I have Home-theatre speakers, the sound was like watching it in the Theatre, now All I need is a La-Z Boy recliner, and an HDTV with a DVD Player, and I'll be in heaven.
One thing that annoys me though, is that they aren't making SW: Episode II Micro Machines like they did for SW: IV, V, VI, and SW: Episode I. I collected those ships, because they were dirt-cheap, and it was easy to build a fleet of them, not only did I have Star Wars, I also had "Star Trek" micor machines, and I still have several Duplicates of certain ships from each series, my most popular is the "Enterprise B" from Star Trek: Generations.
If They ever decide to make more Star Wars Micro Machines, I'l be ordering them in no time. I want the Jedi Starfighter.;)

It's good to see we have some Space Fiction ethusiasts here! :D One of my friends at school has a family friend who works for Lucas Arts and was able to get him one of the "Han Solo frozen in Nitrogen" props used in the movie! Cool or what? :)

I forget exactly what happens, but there is an explanation for the crap-tacular ships of Episodes 4, 5 and 6. They did not overlook that fact.

Umm... maybe that is the legal point of view on the name change, but I think that they switched from "revenge" to "return" because Jedi are not vengeful, and they are not evil. Therefore, revenge is not a word to describe when they kick ass!

I read somewhere that they meant for Episodes I to III to be more of a Rennasaince Era, more care taken to creation and artistic. Meanwhile they meant Episodes IV to VI to be more of an Industrial Revoltuion type thing. Things were being pumped out as fast as they could make them and so they were cruder etc.

Oh yeah.... And I think that the Empire had taken most of the resources from other planets, so the people who were not woring for the Empire had crappy vehicles because of the lack of no resources.

I agree about the name change-reason as well, although back when Jedi came out, not as much was known about their origins, and their were still plans to do a third trilogy Episodes VII,VIII, and IX would pick up right after ROTJ before George Lucas Decided to make prequels with that annoying "thing" Jar-Jar Binks, why couldn't they have had a wookie? Also the word Revenge was remoced from the Star Trek movie for the same non-legal reason most likely, due to the fact that the "Enterprise" was a ship of exploration and not war, and the word "revenge" wouldn't fit the title for the death of a Major charcter who came back to life in the third movie, which really was a continuation of the second one.
I heard that SW:AOTC is going to explain why the symbol for the Emipre, and the Jedi Symbol are so similar, as well as why the ships in SW: IV,V, and VI look like they're tin cans, probably because of the war between the Imerprials and the Rebal Allieance, which SW: Episode III will have to lead in to if they want to make the movie look like it fits the timeline. There's also probably a lack of rescources in SW: IV,V, and VI.
NOw if they could only explain why the new Star Trek Prequel, "Enterprise" has a ship that looks "MORE" futuristic than the ships used before 1992, than I would be happy. I hate alot of prequels for the sole reason that they screw up what is already established, such as Anakin having a brother in SW: Episode IV when Luke is with his Uncle, and how the "Enterprise" from "Enterprise" has an extremly futuristic design, and there was no war with the Romulans, which was supposed to have happened before the original "Star Trek", thus ruining the series;' continuity. I'm actually hoping that when "Enterprise" goes off the air the Series Finale wipes the ship from the "Star Trek Timeline", which they could do, since the first epsiode of the show deals with time travel. I really don't like prequelsl, unless they can fit the original storyline.

Uncle Owen isn't Luke's real uncle. So its not Anakin's brother. Owen is Obi-Wan's brother.

Yup yup. That is true. ObiWan took Luke and Lea away from Anakin so that they would not be "evil".
Oh, and Episode II looks amazing! I was watching TV before I went to church, and I saw a preview for it. OMG. There were like 8 Jedi, lightsabers ablazing, deflecting lazers from Trade Federation droids and things that look like a pre-evolution of the AT-AT walkers. Damn I cannot wait to see this movie. I'll probably see it 8 times, like I saw Episode I 8 times. Damn, I cannot wait.

The more light-sabre duels the better. Also thanks for clearing up the facts about Uncle Owen. I actualy thoght that was correct when I was watching SW: Episode I, but there was something that didn't fit. Now if we can see Obi-wan talking about Luke and Leia as children in Episode III, or better yet, seeing him give them to Uncle Owen, then we'd have a VERY interesting plot. I know that IF George Lucas ever changes is mind again about SW: Episodes VII,VIII, and IX, that they really should show the Jedi-counsol being rebuilt, and that people like me would be even happier to see what was originally planned. Also In Episode II we'l see Janga Fett, who Bobba Fett was presumably cloned from, as well as the Slave I ship, so this will be very interesting indeed. Also to Quote Darth Vader after the Death Star's test, Episode II looks "Most Impressive."

Lucas said that Episode II had the lightsaber duel to end all lightsaber duels. But I think Yoda's fight is more battle of the Force more than lightsabers though Yoda does use one.

Actually, only Luke would be given to Owen Lars. Leia goes to Bail Organa.

He couldn't do it now because of the novels which are considered part of the Star Wars continuity. The novels start from right after RotK (Truce at Bakura) to like 25 years after RotJ (New Jedi Order series). A sequel triology would either have to take place after all the novels, which would limit what new novels could do, or it would somehow have to squeeze within the novels or just knock the novels out of continuity.

Actually, Jango is Boba's father. I don't think Boba is a clone.

I have only seen one preview, and it looks sweet. It really got me pumped up to see it.
And yes, Boba Fett is Jango's son. I think that in Episodes II and III there will be some focus on how Jango trains Boba into becoming just like himself.
And... Talking about Epidose III, there will be an amazing lightsabre duel there. Between Anakin and Obi Wan. Damn, that'll be sweet.
And... About mistakes happening in Episode IV. Remember when R2D2 went to Old Ben? Ben didn't have a clue in the world who the hell R2D2 was. So maybe R2D2 will not be around him im Ep II and III

Well when you think of it, in 4,5 and 6 they are all living under the tyranny of Empiure rule and the jedi have almost been completly killed off, in times of war and poverty it will look less advanced coz the advanced stuff would be stockpiled or blown to smitherens.
Also the films were made ages ago, before even most of the members of these boards were born, me included.
BTW, Star Wars rules, anyone who says otherwise gets a punch in the face. And Episode 1 was'nt that bad, I liked it.

I think its not that Episdoe I is a bad movie, I think its more that it really didn't feel like Star Wars. There was too much politics and stuff. I liked Episode I, I just think it wasn't a very good Star Wars movie. I don't know about everybody else though....

Well, I just finished watching Episode I, and I still think that it is a great addition to the Star Wars Saga. I think that it explains most things clearly to those who may be new to the series. The only downfall in this movie is the acting. The kid who played Anikan was horrible, but I still stand by my opinion that Jar Jar is alright. He may not be a favourite, but he is cool.
I also like how they brought the "midi chlorians" into the Star Wars Universe. Anikan has more than Yoda! Uh huh, its true.
Ginkasa
03-26-2002, 07:32 PM
I personally didn't like the midi-chlorians that much. I would rather have the Force be a mysterious power that even the Jedi don't even know all about, just how to use it. That's on eof the things that made me like the original trilogy, the Force.

Aww, the little things like actually noticing midi chlorians is what seperates big fans from little fans. Big fans of the saga ponder about the midi chlorians... while little fans just take it in as a fact. Oh well...
Um... Damn I cannot wait to see this movie. Um... to all you losers like me, is anybody here going to be collecting the action figures? I think I will only get the main characters, and the cool looking characters.

OK, Episode I wasn't a bad idea on paper, it was a bad idea as a finished product. They had the most Obnoxious kid playing Anikin, they had Jar Jar, who disgusted me, and should have been a wild animal considering his intelligance level was lower than that of an Ewok(I take that back, ewoks are poretty smart), in fact the only hing that madeup for Jar Jar's stupidity in the theatrical release was the Bonus Disc in the Episode I DVD set.
The other problem was the fact that Qui-gon's charcter was just used to fill some scenes, when he could have been mch more usuful in an early part of Episode II.
The pod-racing was cool, but it could have been a little more interesting.
Personally I just didn't like Episode I, and I felt the same way about the last "Star TREK" movie, which was released around the same time as SW: TPM. However it seems, just from the previews, that Episode II: AOTC will be much better than Episode I:TMP. There aren't any previews yet for the new Star Trek Movie, but everything I'm reading about it makes it sound better than the last Star Trek movie as well. I guess if LucasFilm and Parmount are trying to compete, they're sort of having a boxing match, one releases a mediocore movie, and the other counters with their own mediocore movie, one releases a potential-blockbuster, and the other gets a writer from "gladiator" to write there movie. (The new Star Trek movie will be written by John Logan, who co-wrote "Gladiator"). It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out, now if onlyI could find some more Star Wars and Star Trek Ships, oh well, at least KB Toys never re-stocks there shelves, and they've managed to have three Millenium Falcon Micro-Machines, a Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber, and on the Star Trek Side, two Jem'Hadar dolls, and two Tuvok Dolls. Oh well, at least this summer I can add the new Starship Enterprise NX-01 to my Star Trek toy collection, even though a new company has the lisence, good news is that there are no more Decals to put ont he ship (they loved to peel off of the old ones), and their will be no visible screws on the exterior, so you won't have a ship that looks like it was bolted together with "21st Century screws", but only the sleek lines of the toy itself. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go annoy the people at Art Asylum's website to make more "Star Trek" ships, specifically the U.S.S. Equinox, and the U.S.S. Prometheus, which other fans are trying to force them into building as well. I still haven't found a way to contact Hasbro, to ask them if they're making SW:AOTC Micro Machines, I want a Mini_Jedi Starfighter, that design Kicks @$$.
