Schway. Now I just gotta clear my desktop to make room for all these widgets. Shame there isn't one for cpu/harddrive temperature since that's what I need to check the most.

I'm sure you could find one online that does that.

Nice, now PC users can experience the same fun that Mac users have been having with their widgets. I'd download some, but I don't want to slow down my computer unless necessary.

Now? these things have been around for the past 10 years. i had these things on my PC years ago. this is just a different person making the program.

Many of the ones that have been around for a while are free too.

i think www.desktopsidebar.com is free, i used to use that for a while. it lets you put many things all on its side bar. or float them around. that ones mainly for side bar. theres others that are all individual like the ones in this thread for free too. i forget the name of the site that listed everything of this nature. customize something .com i thought.

You thinking of customize.org ? Was my favorite site when I tried to make my desktop look all purdy. Now it's purely functional. The widgets were too fancy for my gruff desktop. Used the desktop sidebar for awhile back in the day.

Konfobulator was around long before Tiger. But from what I hear, Tiger does it better, and of course, Tiger is going to get more support than Konfobulator ever will.

Could it be argued that Apple ripped the idea from someone else or are we safe?

They completely ripped off the idea, but that's life, and it's legal.

One person comes up with the idea, the next guy perfects it and makes 10x as much.
