In an effort to allow the Admins of GameTavern a way to punish unruly members of the Tavern, as of right now we are instituting a new form of discipline.

Designated Drivers.

Anyone who does not follow the rules of GT, particularity anyone who flames, is popping up as the instigator in several locked threads or anyone who is just being an ass in general will become a Designated Driver.

Designated Drivers will suffer the following:

No Access to the Arcade
No Attachments
Loss of access to their control panel
Signatures Deleted
Current avatar replaced with an empty glass (the mark of the DD)

All Admins can make any other member a Designated Driver, any warning issued to an unruly member should be considered a courtesy, and thus they are not required to give someone any prior notice. Bitching about not being warned or demanding to be served are sure fire ways to extend your dry period.

As your new warden, I strongly suggest you all behave yourselves. Don't think for a second that I'll cut slack for any allies or friends. When it comes to discipline, I always like to keep my whip within reach. Please remember, your membership and ability to post is a privilege, not a right. And I'll be more than to happy to remind anyone who dares forget that.

This post marks the beginning of a new order and age for GT. Those who welcome the new changes will be spared, those who try to fight it and hang on to the past will bring hardship upon themselves. Make sure you're standing on the right side...

Do we really have that many problem people on this board?

Sure, that's why we need all the admins and moderators too. Everyone here is quite the rebel.

This seems a little pointless to me, not that I really care, it wont affect me. I mean sure, every once in awhile someone might pop up that causes havok in the forums. But why beat around the bush with this crap? Just ban em...

does this rule apply to moderators too?

A moderator can't make someone a DD because of the way it's instituted, it's something only an admin can control. Mods will make recomendations.

I think he was asking if a mod can be made into a DD. I'm curious as well...

The rule was my idea, but I have no control over how it is to be implemented.

I do not forsee a situation where a Mod would be DDed. I think if it ever got that far they would be stripped of their moderation powers.

You'll have to ask an Admin.

I reckon it had something to do with your posting of Triforce Mario Kart Arcade screens in the Double Dash thread. Severe crime, no. Punishable, yes. If you want to take this to GT Court, I'd be happy to be your lawyer.

I find pretending to be a Designated Driver hilarious. Hilarious enough, infact, to take away your custom title.
