VirTra Systems has developed a combat sim for the US military that actually fights back. Players engage in various combat scenarios on a platform with a 360-degree screen. If the player fails to kill an enemy in a given amount of time, then the computer sends a shock—equivalent to a stun gun—through the player’s hips. The shock is enough to send players reeling to the ground, but one best recover quickly or else a second shock will be on its way.

According to an editor from PC Powerplay, PC gamers would be incredibly interested in a feature like this. The developer’s spokesman calls it the “ultimate shooter video game”, adding that smells and vibrations could be included. Any takers?

I'd rather not feel anything. Especially small shocks. :)

Vibrations, maybe.

You won't see that available to the public in America. Not with the amount of disclaimers we have on our entertainment products already. However, for military purposes, the technology will be used well. And who knows, maybe in a third world country like *coughchinacough* something like this could get implemented... :p

The army probably has those laser guns and detectors, played with humans, out in wide open spaces. Why would they need some piece of AI making them piss themselves?

And paintball for everybody else. It's more fun. And it hurts a lot if you get it right :D.

People will modify this so that you will have stimulation in more ways than one online. Then we will be able to type with 2 hands again. Rejoice!
