Well no one seemed to care much about it when I posted the trailer way back when, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. Never read the comic, but I hear it's fantastic as well.
I like Jessica Alba more as a brunette.

I recently just read all the comics to prepare. After reading them and then watching the trailer again its amazing how I can tell exactly what part each little snippet is from. Though the movie does seem to be heavy on color compared to the comics...and lacking in the nudity...though no breasts means even less penis. I may even *gasp* pay money to go see this movie in the theater.

It's my "must see" movie of the year, right up there with A Scanner Darkly.

I've had a bit of a Jessica Alba fetish since Idle Hand came out way back in the day. Oh, and she was in Dark Angel too. She's so hot.
But yeah. I will definately be seeing this movie.

You know, I've been a semi-fan of Bruce Willis since I saw The Sixth Sense. I don't really remember many movies of his I might have seen before hand...
I liked Unbreakable, too. He's just a fun guy to watch. I'm excited about Sin City.
The look of the film is interesting of course. I'm interested to see how the general public will take such a stylized film. Typically audiences seem to stay away from anything that could be even slightly different from the normal formula. Hopefully Sin City will be one of those exceptions that explodes with popularity and changes the film industry for the better. Or something.
Yep...

Those that have read the books know that this movie is going to stir up a lot of controversy. I love the books, just so you know, but this movie is going to get a lot of bad media attention. The books are BRUTALLY violent and have no characters with even a shred of moral values. But then again thats the point.
As for it being the next Dick Tracy... well if Dick Tracy involved dismemberment, decapitations, sexism, perverted clergy, cannibalism, rape and valuminous nudity (which the movie does have minus Alba) then it would be the next Dick Tracy.
I can't wait fo this movie. I will be seeing the first matinee available on Friday just so I can see an untouched print. The books changed the way I looked at the comic medium and what it could do and I was always sure that they would make a great movie, but I never thought anyone would have the balls to make an honest interpretation. Thank you Robert Rodriguez.
I recommend that everyone who sees this movie reads the books its based on. If you like them, I also recommend the following:
Preacher
Earth X
The Watchmen ***a must read***
The Dark Knight Returns ***another must read that I am waiting to be made into a movie**
EDIT: For those of you that see the movie for Jessica Alba, you'll soon forget who she is once you see Carla Gugino butt ass nekid. :D
Good call strangler.
I've read the sin city books but none of frank miller's other books.
I want to bad.
And, I'm definately seeing this movie on opening weekend. I've been drooling over this movie for a while. gah

Recently read The Dark Knight Returns. Might have Klaus Janson as one of my professors in the fall. *cross fingers*
As for the movie, just wanna be sure I read everything it's based on. Are these the only ones or are there more of the shorter shorties in it too?
- The Customer Is Always Right
- The Hard Goodbye
- The Big Fat Kill
- That Yellow Bastard
I pretty much read everything including the shorter stories except for Family Values and Hell and Back.

******SPOILER*********
I thought that the intro scene was perfect to set the tone and give the viewer a good idea of what kind of place Sin City was. The ending, I'd say, was more of a bookend to finish off the movie instead of a reasurrance that the whore was going to get what was coming to her. It started off the way it ended.
and strangler, you're right...Carla Gugino has a very nice rack
didnt quite make me forget about Jessica Alba, though ;)

Well first off, I personally prefer other Bat-books like Year One and the Long Halloween over The Dark Knight Returns. Something about that book just didn't rub me the right way. And also, I read it after Batman Beyond and for some reason that seems to be Batman's future in my mind...
Anyhow onto the movie, it was great... awesome.. well you get the drift. It was such a great movie and some awesome characters. I liked Merv a lot. Dwight/Dwayne was a good character as well. And Miho kicked all types of ass. I also liked the guy who got shot with the arrow.. funnie scene

Yes, too true. It cost me 6.50 just to get a ticket, not counting a 2 dollar bottle of water and snacks.
But it was worth it. The theatre is very very nice. The picture quality is awesome, and the sound system is fantastic. Like when people are shooting or it's raining, you can hear it from the direction it is on the screen.

I think the audience thing could be kind of neat for a little while. I know that one of my favorite things about the Star Wars premieres was the environment with the people and the cheering and stuff. Sin City fans could get a taste of that in their own homes... Sort of. That's probably the idea, anyway.
And your reaction to the cooking show was the exact same as mine...
And I like trailers...
