Ok now that I have your attention can anybody please help.

My boyfriend is going to San francisco and LA for work (for 6 days). I wanted him to buy me a PSP, BUT I need to know how compatible it will be with Australia.

Does anybody know if the games/movies etc are all region free, or do they require some special thingo?

Please let me know asap as I have to tell him tomorrow whether or not to buy it.

Thanks guys!

All PSP games are region free. UMD movies, however, are not.

Is he buying it at the Metreon? I'll be there tomorrow. I'll look around for him.

Dang, if I had enough money and there were PSPs at the Sony store in the Metreon, I would buy one.

Videos, Music, and Games are all region free... UMD movies aren't as DM stated.

Thanks guys.

GM I think he's going to Walmart

I heard that the PSP's in the US are made in China, and the PSP's in Japan are made in Japan. This guy at EB did a side by side comparison and he believes that the Japan PSP's output looks slightly better than the US version. Dunno but yeh.

I wonder if I should buy it over there or not?

The output is 110-240V for the electricity department....

and i'd rather have a japanese design/hardware built in china cuz the Chinese can really build good stuff.

Especially since most Japanese units had the dead pixel, square button defects. And I haven't heard many complaints about the square button off the China built models for NA.

Well either way, I may get it then :)

I finally played it and I was blown away. Totally different handhelds. I love the DS and it's pointing thingo, then again I love the PSP for it's sexiness and features, and beautiful graphics!

Sigh how I love games.
