MediaCreate releases PSP's launch sales report:

March 24th: 203,562 units

MediaCreate: "Many retail stores found themselves sold out of their PSP's within 2 hours of opening. Thankfully the next retail store had a few PSP's to sell off the shelf, but it wasn't long until Non-preorders snatched those units as well."

The hottest selling games for the PSP this launch weekend:
(in order of sales)
1. Ridge Racers
2. Wipeout Pure
3. Lumines
4. Twisted Metal: Head-On
5. Metal Gear Acid
6. Untold Legends


I've been trying so hard to find Ridge Racers.......

I was under the impression that there were more preorders than shipping units.

nope. they upped the amount shipped to north america by like double a few months ago.


North America got 1mil shiped to it, im not sure what the percentages are tho, half and hlaf or 60% us 40% canada, not sure.

We're still not sold out. We've got two preordered units left and four walk-in units.

U.S. was supposed to get 300,000 before they delayed the European launch. Not sure what we actually wound up getting.

This is a funny story that Dark Samurai saw days ago. And this is not a fanboy story because Dark Samurai is the one who saw it, and he's far from a Sony fanboy.

A guy walks into Software ETC. (part of GameStop) and trades in 2 Gameboy SP's and 1 Nintendo DS with a bunch of games for a PSP......

Dark Samurai called him a Nintendo Traitor.... LOL

The Wal-Mart here in Kirksville still has like 25 or 30 PSP's as well as a couple of copies of Ridge Racers.

RagedHybrid, my friend, sold his XBox, PS2, and DS and all games for each respective system for his PSP. lolol. He gave his GC to his sisters
