I DID NOT DESIGN THIS

A guy from Gamespot by the alias Madartist (http://www.gamespot.com/user/profile.html?user=Madartist) did. But I think it's fantastic, and he put a lot of work into it.

It's a nice concept.

Kind of like the PSP and original GBA's bastard child... Or something... It looks groovy.

Yeah, I like it a lot. Are those two nubs at the bottom on either side supposed to be analogue sticks? Because the unit seems like it would be much more functional if the speakers and the analogue sticks were swapped if they are.

That's a great design. It's slick and has a nice, big screen.

Q: How far out do the joysticks protrude? Or do they rise a centimeter above everything else?

I love that thing in between the microphone and power lights, is that the subwoofer?

Also, why do we still have a select button? I don't think I've ever played a game that utilized it except for maybe Pokémon to quickly access an item from your backpack.

I like it a lot, but if I was given a choice, I would prefer the PSP in terms of style.

But if it played Gamecube games, well.. I'd be all over that right away.

It looks like a PSP with a second analog nub... And more curves...

Agreed, besides, with the DS and the SP, I dont think that Nintendo will abandon the clamshell design, to preserve the screen a lot better...

Way too much like the PSP. And Nintendo sort of has patents on the joystick and c-stick, while Microsoft and Sony have was is a clause patent on the Analogs. So Nintendo can't release anything with analog control.... just the joystick and c-stick.

And I highly doubt Nintendo would copy that much of PSP's style. Samurai is right about the clamshell design.

i've played many games that use it, one of the most useful is NHL games where select trasfers your control over to the goalie. :)

and of that the design, eh, i dont like it all that much. altho its better the the clamshell design because the flip top isnt needed. anyone who doesnt know how to keep scratches off a screen deserves them.

But ah well. just have to wait untill 2007 or 2008 when nintendo actually does make a new gameboy to see what one will look like.
