Some more interesting information was released on what Square's first game for Gamecube/GBA will be. Well, the name may not be for sure, but apparently some information on the first Squaresoft title has leaked out, and it sounds pretty good.

Square's first game for Gamecube will also be for GBA. That's right, exactly the same game on both systems (except graphics, which Gamecube's will be better!). The game has interchangable data and everything, so basically you can play it anywhere, at anytime, to advance your game! It will most likely be an RPG, although it is not known yet. And in case you were playing the GBA version and missed an FMV on the Gamecube version, you can replay it later on your Gamecube. So essentially, you can play this game anytime, anywhere, except in your sleep! Although...

It gets better too. It is set for a Holiday 2002 release on both systems (on the same date). This may sounds unlikely, but both Nintendo and Square gave the greenlight for development way back in December 2001. We'll have more on this hot title, soon!

Don't know how true this is.. sounds interesting though

it's from Cube-Europe

Sounds good. But, will the fact that the game is on GBA limit the depth of the game? I mean, obviously the GBA holds less space, so will the game be short? If so, that would suck, but this is a sweet idea having the same game on both systems.

THis sounds great...I wonder if it's true and if it is..I wonder how in the hell they are going to get that pullled off. and if they do will they get it pulled off on time??

All these questions no answers, oh while that's life. :D

My guess for the first game is FF Tactics. The game for the GBA would probably look and play similar to Shining Force, while the GC version will most likely play like the PSX version.

btw, FF Unlimited is an rpg right? That would be cool if that was exclusive to the GC. I love anime based rpgs. Squaresoft didn't really make them on the PSX except for Xenogears. The only games that I can think of that were anime based rpgs on the PSX are Lunar 1/2, and Tales of Destiny 1/2.

Err that idea sounds neat but it's not a big deal for me... I never travel or anything... I'd just use my GBA as a little handheld system at home (which is one reason I don't like the size and such since portability doesn't matter to me, and I wish there was a way to hook it up to a TV like Sega Nomad)... So it would be useless for me unless there were things you could only get in certain versions of the game (GBA or NGC)...

Not to mention paying 50 bucks for a gamecube game and then like 30 bucks or whatever it is for the same game with SNES graphics just so you could play it "on the go" sounds kinda stupid to me..... meh

They'd better give the games some different extras......

There will probably be some sort of bonuses for playing one version then hooking up to the other. Maybe some codes or special spells or something.

Mmm while this is all good and proper I wonder how much it will cost. Will the game(s) be released seperately, as a packege or both? Thats what I wanna know, oh and WTF the game is too.

It might work if they do it correctly. Extras will have to be put in or it isn't worth the money.

And they could have multiple cartridges. Unfortunately it probably wouldn't work 'cause people with only a GBA couldn't play. Unless they figure out a way to switch cartridges without the danger of losing saved data.
