And so it begins...
The official, new election for the user-selected moderator.
If you weren't with us the last time around, this election is an opportunity for the members of GameTavern to run for and choose our next temporary moderator. The usual term lasts for a minimum of four months.
Dylflon has served the first term for us and has done a wonderful job. I would like to thank him for his allegiance to our forums and for putting in the time and work needed to make this place great.
Who Can Become a Moderator?
A registered user assigned by an administrator after being voted in by the people of the community.
What Does a Moderator Do?
A moderator is given the authority to edit posts and move, delete and close topics in a forum in accordance with the forums rules. (http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?t=753) In addition, it would be appreciated if he or she would promote discussion and threads for his or her assigned forums. He or she is expected to tend daily to these duties.
How is the Moderator Chosen?
After all applications are received, an initial poll will be held in which the four top voted contestants will be determined. After that, a second poll will be held featuring only the top four runners, and from this the final winner will be selected. Any registered user is eligible to vote and run for the position. Please note, that cheating is not accepted and while your vote will remain anonymous, any suspicious activity such as fake accounts can and will be investigated by the staff.
How Do I Apply?
If you're interested in becoming the next user-selected moderator, simply state so within this thread. Remember, it is the community who will decide your fate, not the staff, thus it is called the user-selected moderator. While it is not necessary, you may wish to include a written speech in your post. Your post could be the deciding factor for whether someone votes for you or not. Campaign signatures are allowed but may not exceed the standard signature limits. Use of doubloons and/or reputation within your campaign is prohibited. A candidate should be judged by his character rather than his pocketbook.
The deadline for submitting your applications within this thread is a week from now: Tuesday March 15. 2005
Good luck and have fun!
