Welcome to this new thread, featuring some of the developers who you will probably be hearing about in the (near?) future, as their software will be heading to GameCube. You'll find 3 developers in this topic, and possibly in all future updates. Hopefully, I'd be able to update you guys each week(more or less, but ony for a period of time, of course) with a fresh trio of developers.
------------------------------------------------

Though many of these developers may seem a bit unfamiliar(especialy by title), gamers have to realize that the industry isn't entirely made of Capcoms, Segas, Namcos, Konamies..and other very popular developers/publishers. This oblivious nature also makes them more interesting to write about.

I'm conscious that GameCube is preceived as a console with disgraceful 3rd-party support(which confuses me, because all people ever talk about are the same 10 -15 devs each time, and GameCube likely has every one of them). If people were more aware of the plethora of smaller/less known developers out there supporting GC, they would change their tunes. Well, that's what this thread is about, it's a start in that direction, and I hope you all appreciate it now, and throughout future updates.

[note: I still believe GameCube lags behind Xbox and PS2 in terms of support--though not by much--but the situation as not as bad as some think. In fact, from what I gathered over the last year or so, support is overwhelming and is continually fortified.]

Featuring: A2M Studios (http://www.a2m.com/flash/a2mflash.html) [A2M = Artificial Mind & Movement]

Info: Located in Montreal, ninety-six team members strong, this company mainly creates character-based games for major publishers such as Sony, Konami and Inforgrames(among other, most likely). Such games include titles like The Grinch, Jersey Devil, and Bugs Bunny(all PS titles). However, their development is not limited to licenses only, as their portfolio includes orignal characters created by it's design team. A2M Studios currently have games in development for PS2, Xbox, GCN, and GBA.

GameCube Offering: Not much is known at this time(and assumptions shouldn't be made), but they are said to be working on more than 4 new titles, 3 of which will be released for new generation consoles(GCN included)

Notable: Assuming we can take their words, then... "New exciting projects are currently under development for next-generation consoles!" Let's hope they deliver on that promise as we wait to hear more about them in the future.

Featuring: The Collective (http://www.collectivestudios.com/main.htm)

Info: Started in 1997 by a team of industry veterans, this company is situated in the heat of Newport Beach, California, which makes for a very attractive location, as I can imagine. This is the ambitious group responsible for the acclaimed PC game, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, The Fallen (http://www.simonsays.com/thefallen_site/Screenshots_Archive/HTML/NoIndex_FWS_screenshot_0019.htm#Screenshot), and the still-in-development Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (http://www.ea.com/eagames/games/xbox/buffy/home.jsp) for Xbox. The Collective seem to have a reptutation for delivering action-packed titles with very nice visuals. It's a pleasure to have them preparing GameCube software.

GameCube Offering: Details are scarce on what they have planned. What ever it is though, they seem to have high aspirations for it, as they are looking for a senior GCN programmer with and in-depth understanding of the console, "who will relish the opportunity to work on an incredible title" .

Notable: I also found it somewhat reassuring that one of the requirements for the aforementioned job position includes; "Desire and ability to push this exciting new console to its limits." Although these same catchy phrases can also be found under their job postings for Xbox/PS2 senior/lead programmers, it's clear that they want to get the most out of each platform, which is a good thing. This makes them a very intersting supporter to keep our eyes on. Does this raise our chances of seeing Buffy on GameCube? Or perhaps a totally new game designed from ground up for GameCube? Who knows... we'll see something though! ;)

Featuring: Blue Tongue Software (http://www.bluetongue.com/index.html)

Info: This is an Australian company, claiming to be a leading developer in that region. Blue Tongue Software is currently developing for all major consoles, PC and GBA.

GameCube Offering: Pretty much nothing is known, besides the fact that Blue Tongue Software's team is seeking "talented and experienced programmers to join the Blue Tongue team on an exciting project." If the project truly fits that description, then that's very good news for GameCube.

Notable: The project they are working on is an original title, and seems to be the only project being worked on at the moment. Let's hope it turns out alright. Hopefully, more will be revealed in the months ahead.

That's it for now. There are many more exciting GameCube supporters out there(some more intersting than other), and in my next update I'll "preview" another three. So stay tunned!
