Welcome to my art gallery. :) I'll try to keep it updated with my latest works of art, including prose, poetry, and digital art.

I do take signiture or photomanipulation requests, for a small doubloon fee, just depending on how long it takes me to make your request. If you spot something in my gallery that you would like to use, such as a signiture, just let me know and I will alter the username for you, but I will leave my watermark on it. I usually mark my work under the alias "Zalu Ragar". All signitures are 150 doubloons a piece, and if you request a custom one I charge 100 doubloons if it takes less than an hour, and 50 doubloons for each additional hour. I still retain the rights to the original sig designs.

I will not sell the same sig to two different people on the same forum.

ALSO FOR SALE
I will design banners for your website layout, at a flat rate of 500 doubloons per banner.

Advertising in my Signiture Space:
Text Url: 10 doubloons per week
Linked Image smaller than 100 width x 50 height: 30 doubloons per week
Entire signiture (banner size) Linked: 50 doubloons per week

I can only advertise one image at a time, due to the rules of GT, so its a first come first serve basis.

An excellent idea, Vampyr!

I applaud your work and look foward to becoming one of your clients. Your photoshop skills have risen above everyone else's. If you want to become the new champion, all you have left to do is challenge the current Champion, Null.

A subject will be chosen at random and you and Null will compete to create a work of signature art that contains this subject. Once you have both submitted work, GameTavern will vote to decide the best one. Whoever wins will be crowned the new Photoshop Champion and in addition will receive 100 +reps from me and possibly 500 doubloons.

Random image script? I've used that before. A pain in the ass if you have to change the images, number of images... or if you have to put that script in more places than one.

Not a bad idea, though. I might use that idea sometime.

Glad you like it. If you decide to use it, could you please host it yourself? I have been hitting my bandwith limit A LOT lately. People are having a hard time seeing my stuff, which was Darkmaster's problem, I think.

So anything I have made for anyone, please host it yourself. You can find good free hosting here: www.imagecave.com, www.photobucket.com, www.graffiti.net

Just go there and sign up.

I'm going to start charging a doubloon rent on my hosting. :D

Also, if at any time you realize you can't see any of my images, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

That sounds like a pain. :|

There are some effects you just can't get otherwise. Like grunge and abstract themes. If your worried about degrading your art, at least make your own brush's. That way it's still 100% yours.

MuGen

I can do all that with regular brush tips though... no need to make my own... I like making the art from scratch and not loading presets.

i'd like the current if it was original, but quite honestly, as much as it is a nice artistic lesbian picture, i've grown tired of seeing it. i must have seen that picture at least a couple times a day for the past year. in Counter-Strike: S. people use it as thier spray paints and its sprayed all over the map each game. then in sigs in other boards.

its a nice picture, but i like seeing something that i havnt seen so many times before.

the reason it doesnt look right is becuase the way one views the image is the background is computer generated, and the picture is real. its like you being stuck in a computer generated world. things around you dont fit in with yourself.

its a nice background tho. hehe

It reminds me of the scene in I, Robot where Will Smith is walking through the wad of disabled robots looking for the radical one and you can so tell that it is all computer generated. It hardly looks real, IMO.

But, I like the background, and I like the babe. Together, they just look odd.

New sig!

The Predator:
http://home.comcast.net/~zalu_ragar/signitures/predator.png

I just want to say that I have completely fallen in love with .png, and that I adore Firefox for supporting it. I've been designing a website recently, and I realized that .png files are smaller than .gif files.

IE is stupid for not supporting it. It's the file of the future, better than .jpg or .gif.

And don't steal that sig...my name is on it, if you look at the predators head, on the ridge.

And I know that the name of the movie is "predator", not "the predator", I just like putting the "the" in there.

I really like this signiture. The image on the left was created by me. I took a photo of myself, and then used photo shop to manipulate it to make it look sort of like a vector image. Then I took that picture and brushed over it, then used some color balance to get the color of the leaves. Then I found a font that I thought suited the look of the theme, and I personally love the text. It says "I was born in a house of leaves"

It isn't taken from anything...it's just something I wanted to build the sig on. I like making poetic sigs.

Well, it looks great. The way you have the leaves arranged almost makes them look like flames also. And you did a great job 'vectorizing' yourself. I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the photograph and stand alone 'vectored Zach'. I think I have that font on my computer too. I forget its name at the moment but I used it for a GameTavern project here once.

I'm not sure what you're going for but my suggestion would be to adjust the area where you fall 'behind' the leaves. Maybe it's intended for you to be standing behind the leaves like they're a curtain or something but it looks kind of abrupt. I would ease your 'vector self' into the leaves a little more so it looks like you're slowly blending/fading into them.

O_O

Someone at GT is giving an in depth critique of my work?! Awesome! This rarely happens.

Thanks for the advice and critique, GM.

The font is Papyrus, it's one that null uses a lot. And I might post those pictures you are talking about, because personally I think the "vectored" version of me looks really cool.

A few other people have told me that the transition from me to leaves is abrupt, although I don't see it, but I'm going to try and fix it anyway.

And here is the poetic explanation:

There is a photo of me with a "gun" to my head, and leaves falling around me. The quote says "I was born in a house of leaves", and a leaf house would be very unstable. It would not take much to knock the "house" over. And in the sig, the leaves are falling around me, meaning that the house has collapses. The leaves are a symbol of my life, and the entire sig represents how unstable things are, including me.

Lemme guess Null.... IE user?

IE!? please boy, thats one of the first things i get rid of off my computer. at the very least, get rid of all the links and references to it.

something like that has nothing to do with the browser. its a jpg, so its filled in with what he 'thinks' the background color is. Which doesnt work on a board with multiple 'skins'.

even then, on many of them i can still see a difference because some computers are darker so people think they have a match when they dont.
altho i tested it on the forum skin that he uses and he did that just fine.

but still, personally i'd use a png and say screw the ie users for now. IE is going to update soon enough with full png support anyway. even if i was assured that everyone uses the same forum skin, it would still bug me to know that the grey box exists even if you couldnt see it during the forums.

that has nothing to do with the artwork in it, as i said, its a good job, im more against the format it was saved in.

PS, if you ever expect me to let you kill me in CS or any other game, i expect a full written apology for calling me a ie user. ;) :D

MuGen
01-05-2006, 04:02 PM
nah I was assuming as much... didn't know it was JPEG.... the color he chose as the background had me fooled for a bit cuz I use the same skin.

Vampyr
01-05-2006, 07:18 PM
when he meant grey box, he meant the border I think.

What he was refering to was the grey box I had placed around the banner section of the sig to create the illusion that the wings on the heart and the text were hanging over the sides. You wouldn't notice it unless you right clicked and viewed the actual image, or you were using a GameTavern skin other than the default.

Now I've changed it to a .png file, which means it's transparent and it will look the same on any surface. The only downside is that for IE users, there will now be a white box around it.
