I spilt Coca Cola Classic on my laptop

Wow, earlier today when I was just chilling on MSN, I spilt a can of coke on it. For a couple of hours, my buttons were not working.. then they slowly awoke and now I can type again. So... my q button is sticky... and the s is kinda sticky too.. any suggestions on what I can do?

If possible, take off the case/shell of laptop (may void warranty, not sure), and clean up the keys.

Other then that, can of air is the best option I'd think

Sucks for you.....coke is water sugar, and sugar hardens.

You're going to have to manually remove the keys, or, hope for the best.

And I'm pretty sure the preferred past tense is spilled....just like you say: 'I hanged the blackie', not 'I hung!!!' (I'm joking....)

Most keyboards feature buttons which can be "popped" off. If you pry them off individually with something that usually works. Then soak all of the keys in a solution of water/soap (dish soap works well because it disolves better).

I'd suggest doing it a row at a time, or five at a time so you don't forget where buttons go, :-p.

When you're done just let them dry and snap them back on.

No my main problem is C, X, Q, D, left Shift, backslash (completely doesn't work... I'm thinking maybe the liquid got into the circuits perhaps)... i question mark would have gone at the end of that bracket... but i can't put one!!! haha... on, and 1 2 are sticky too.

Nah, they definitely don't sell New Coke, because I've been wanting to try it forever...Same with Coke II. Novelty sodas have become an obsession of mine. I ****ing love Pepsi Holiday Spice and Pepsi Kona (the coffee cola)...

Whenever I spill something on my keyboard I just break down and buy a new one...It's usually worth it. Keyboards are not too expensive anyways.

Lol, it's cool it's cool. The way this thread is going, he's probably going to have permanent internal damage and will need to send it in for repairs, so any advice is good advice because it's all bad! Lol.

what kind of laptop you have? i work for a computer company, i might be able to get you a replacment, unless you still have a warranty then i recommend you go back to where you bought it.
