That's the current rumor. Even though neither company has commented on it, the rumor caused Tivo stock to jump a little today. Interesting news. Even more interesting are the possibilities of the future if Apple is buying Tivo. Does this mean Apple will expand their hardware line or simply input Tivo-like technologies into their future computers?

In addition, Apple introduced a 6G iPod Mini as well as 30G and 60G models of the iPod Photo.

The 4G Mini model is now $199 ($249 previously) and the new 6G model is $249.

Since Null would point this out anyway, I'll just do it this time:

6G iPod Mini $249 OR for an additional $50 you can have a standard 20G iPod.

6G = Bad Deal?

There, you happy Null? ;)

I never thought I would see the day Tivo would be up for sale. They seemed to be the ones that pioneered DVR and other companies followed suit. Hopefully Apple at least retains the name Tivo because its widely known and respected as much as Apple is nowadays.

I like that the 4Gig model is now at $199. That puts it in the price range for more people (like me) and now I think I can seriously afford an iPod.

I didn't mean that as a joke either. I really am broke.

Yay!!

head of tivo says tivo is not for sale. But its likely apple can buy them out anyway if they really are wanting to.
