Since some idiot ruined the last discussion of PS3 concepts, and my favourite conecpt didn't get posted, let's restart this thread! haha.

This is my favourite, and it is one of the oldest too.

I hope that the PS3 will have a full-fledged online mode, similar, but improved on Xbox Live. Voice communication is a must, IMO, and hopefully there will be a crazy SOCOM game or something like that at launch.

Anyways... Anybody know when its supposed to be released? And is it for sure going to be playable at E3?

Its going to be first shown sometime in March (or it might be April...I forget). Now, the E3 scenario is kind of sketchy. They say it will be playable, but this could just mean there'll be demos playing on it showing its capabilities, not necessarily that people will be able to play it.

And apparently Sony has huge online plans for the PS3.

I personally don't like any of the concepts that have been posted.

I don't know if I'll get any of the next generation systems anyhow seeing how I'll be starting university. No time for games.

I wont be getting it because I dont play games anymore, on a regular basis.

I maybe play half an hour of games a month.

My thoughts exactly. I think all these concept pictures are ugly, and a little silly since the final version will more than likely look nothing like them.

And I will TRY not to buy any of them...although I might break down and get one in the end. Since I will be starting college not too long after they hit the shelves, I'm just planning on buying a really awesome gaming computer and gaming on it instead of a console throughout my college years.

A next gen console will help get you through university man.

I hear a lot of people say that they wont be playing videogames once they hit College, but it really isnt like that at all.

First of all, you're going to have a ton of free time. Secondly, a higher percentage of people in College play videogames...

Put those to together, and you'll find yourself with lots of opportunities to play some serious multiplayer.

I didn't say I wasn't going to play video games, I said I wasn't going to be playing on a console.

And like I said, I probably won't be able to resist and will end up buying a console anyway.

Worst case scenario.......you have no time at all to game AT ALL.

However I know I'm getting the PS3 and the Revolution, this generation.

However if I had to pick one... PS3.

In April's EGM the Q-Man says that a "high-profile developer" who has seen both PS3 and Xbox 2 development kits told him that the PS3 is "way, way more powerful than Xbox 2. It's insanely powerful."

The joke was the Zelda: WW "realistic" look ;)

And AFAIK, EGM does only 1 joke per April Issue

Holy derail Batman, but I really have to chip in here.

I was going into University thinking I wouldn't have as much time for games - and I was spot on. I BARELY play anything at home nowadays. Most of the gaming I do now is some of the weekday I have off, and the busrides to the campus, on my DS. Aside from that, gaming has gone extremely downhill for me. A hell of a lot. And while I have met other people who played games, and played a couple of LAN parties with them, it wasn't that much different from what I was already doing.

So in retrospect - it all depends on your courses. You can't make an assumption that everyone has more time off in University.

Speaking of which, I really liked that toaster concept of the PS3.
