Im thinking of asking for an Ipod for my Graduation gift, and I have one important question. Ive heard that you can only put songs on the Ipod that you download off of the Itunes webpage or whatever its called. That would mean I couldnt put any of the hundreds of illegal songs I have on my hard drive on my ipod. Is there any truth to this?

absolutly no truth what so ever.

you can put whatever mp3 on it you want. and if itunes ever did only let you put on songs you download, then theres MANY other programs to use besides itunes that would let you.

but apple isnt that dumb. they'd never make it so you can only put downloaded songs from itunes on it.

That is false.

Not one song on my iPod was obtained from the iTunes Store.

As above said. Put any MP3's, etc.. on it or use it as a portable hard drive also :D

A similar thought has been in my friend's head for a while. Apparently, he thinks that if someone stole his Ipod (which someone did), that person wouldn't be able to put new songs on it.

He's a moron.

He left his locker open in gym, and someone took his Ipod. He knew the ID Number on the Ipod, and he got a tip that someone took it. They actually caught the kid that stole it, and they recovered the Ipod. When he got it back, there were about 1500 new songs on it.

does anyone have an ipod shuffle? If so is it worth the money?

No and no.

The concept behind the thing is a cheap ploy for Apple to take more of your money.

it can be depending on what you use it for. my friend has a normal 40gig ipod, then bought a shuffle recently for jogging with because its so much lighter and smaller.

if you have a specific purpose in mind, then it might work out great. i wouldnt really recomend it for all purpose use because it has no screen and you cant select a certain song, and things like that.

Yeah, iPod shuffle seems pretty expensive for a 128MB (or whatever it is) MP3 player.

Yeah, iPod shuffle seems pretty expensive for a 128MB (or whatever it is) MP3 player.

its a 512mb for $99 (and a 1gb for $150)

now considering most other mp3 players 128mb to 256mb are between $100 and $200, then actually apple priced the shuffle very well.

now of course i myself am always for the most stoarge you can get. because spending a few extra hundred to get 20gigs or more and your saving a LOT of money that way.

but depending on how you use it. the shuffle can be useful and at a good price.
