Adelphia founder John Rigas would never let his cable company offer even soft-core pornography, a sense of morality that apparently failed to extend into his business dealings. Under new management, Adelphia is ironically now the first major cable company in the country to offer hard-core pornography, claims the Los Angeles Times. "People want it, so we are trying to provide it," Adelphia spokeswoman Erica Stull says. "The more Xs, the more popular."

If anyone here actually has Adelphia as their cable provider, this could be good or bad news :p

*edit*
If this is more appropriate in Think Tank, move it there

I was watching a program on PBS about this. I think DirectTV offers some channels too. One of them though, I think maybe Comcast had provided it, and received a lot of complaints so they removed it.

If you live independtly, I guess it's alright, but if you live in a family or with a spouse, it's probably not healthy, as Angrist can attest to.

well, there is always the parental control on the TV and channels and stuff, and the people who have Adelphia as their provider can choose not the get those channels, so i don't see what the problem is...

what i think is sad, is that HBO has something that may be soft core porn on late at night... it is disgusting

Well, I am about as anti-censorship as they come, and what the people do in the private of their own houses is their business.

Considering that you are paying anywhere from 30-100 dollars a month for cable TV, I think you should be able to watch what you want, even if that is porn.

Edit: I don't have cable TV, by the way.....just an observation
