Well, one of my first.. er my first assignments for one of my courses is to write a short paper on what my life will be like at 75... so I'm just curious as to what some folks imagine their life to be like at 75.. especially CamFu and Neo who are what.. 3 or 4 years from that?
And I know it's a weird thing to think about.. imagine writing a graded paper on it :(

I hope to be in good health and living an active lifestyle. Unlike my parents and grandparents, I'm determined to keep up with the times and technology. And my kids and grandchildren will never be more knowledgable of computers, internet, or other electronic devices. I hope to be retired or near retirement with a good financial plan that allows me to travel and spend without too much worrying. I'd like to still be playing video games unless I lose interest. I hope to still be using an Apple computer. I'd also like to go to up space or maybe even the moon. I'm hoping by that time it'll be much cheaper and old people will also be able to do it. I'd like to keep in touch with you guys and hopefully still be moderating (or inheriting) GameTavern. I hope that I had a career that paid well and was enjoyable. When I'm 75, I hope advances in cryogenics have taken place so that I can freeze my body in hopes of one day being ressurected. Or make arrangments to transfer my mind and memories to an electronic body so I can continue to live. I hope the Tme Machine becomes real so I can go back and visit my high school self and assure him that the future holds good things. That's all I can think of now.
If my grandfathers are any indication, I'll be living in the house I move into or have really recently moved into a new one. As well, I'll be balding and I'll ramble about random crap and laugh about everything. Or else I'll be a mute.
Seriously, my grandpa laughs about EVERYTHING. It's cool. "And the blinkin fool died the next blinkin day. HEHEHHA."
Poor guy was in a Russian concentration camp, anyways. I don't blame him. The other grandfather? He passed away from cancer before he hit 70. =\

Hopefully still pounding back drinks and playing cards with my buddies (whomever they may be.) Talking sports, telling dirty jokes and remembering times gone by.
Cause quite frankly, if I can't do that every now and then, at any age, I don't know if I want to be alive.

After working my way to fame and fortune (the kind that keeps you famous [like John Wayne], not 15 minute famous [like Survivor winner person]), gaining momentum in the polictical world, using my then mass influence to subvert some threat or another, I will have been voted into becoming the leader of the world.
The reign will have brought such a wonderous period of peace and prosperity that scientists everywhere will come together to create a youth potion that will keep me healthy and strong no matter how old I become.
At 75, I will have led the world for many years, spreading love and peace among the people. Despite my years, I shall appear to be a spry young man of 45 (relatively speaking).
My children and grandchildren will be sparse. Since the last thing I want is to create a civil war over my throne...err...office, I have only a few children to keep the possible heirs to a minimum.
I will live in a secret underground bunker in the moon to keep me safe from any possible assassins, although from the great pains taken to ensure my comfort, I might as well be living in Hawaii.
My 75th birthday will be spent taking my rare trip to Earth to spread my glorious face among the planet, allowing the people to praise my great deeds and divine greatness. The gifts I shall receive shall be numerous. They will shine with the gratitude and wealth of the billions of people under my rule.
At age 75, I will be the greatest leader this world has ever or will ever know.

Playing golf with my buddies 5 days a week.
Playing cards with my buddies.
Having sex with my two wives after trading in my 70 year old wife for two 35 year olds :stud:
I'll try to keep in shape and not be one of those old dudes that limp around with an arched back.

I hope I'll be spending as much time as possible with my grandchildren. I hope I am active, both spiritually and physically, and I hope that I have saved enough money to help out my chilren raising their children.

I just had this discussion with the boyfriend a minute ago...
Well, I would like to be healthy at the age of 75. I have seen my grandparents being bed ridden by various illness and I hope I am able to avoid that fate. Then again, I have naturally bad genes >.<
I want to have tonnes of grand kids to spoil rotten (as my grandparents did to me), don't mind if they are a bit annoying because if they get of my nerves I'll just send them back to their parents (that's what my grandparents did too)...
I also hope that I am still with the person I married, living out the end of our lives together and growing old gracefully :)
I hope I die in a blaze of glory, bringing several mofos with me. Another one of my death fantasies involves being smacked head-on by a huge bus as I attempt to cross the street. Being found with my throat slit and eyes gaping open also has some appeal.

I hope I will be alive, well, and happy. I've always thought that by 75 i will be ready to die or something. I should have lived a satisfying life by 75-80.

Curse?
The curse of being unable to live past 65...
I agree with Joeiss, being elderly doesn't have to be all downhill. The Golden Years are a time to try new things and rekindle old passions. Whether that be painting or the woman at the post office.

How about painting the woman at the post office?

I'm in the same boat, but not as bad. My grandfather lived to be the oldest male ever in my family, and he lived to be 72.

My great Aunt is turning 102 this year.
I think its 102....it might be 103, or 101.
