View Full Version : Most hated Halo feature

some might need a little more explaining.
the flag one. what i mean here is during any capture the flag, assault etc game this happens. ie, neutral bomb: you drag the bomb into their base, kill all of their team, go to arm it, but in seconds they all respawn right next to you and kill you. but when they are arming it in your base, you appear on the other side of the map.
shotgun one. i'll chase a guy around, and shotgun him in the back 5 times but he wont die, instead he'll turn around and kill me with a single needler or something... i know it happens to you guys too
other hated things are: no fall damage, if you dont have a sniper in coagulation you're screwed, melee is almost worthless anymore, grenades don't work worth crap, what's the use of shooting someone if their shield automatically goes up anyways (at least in halo 1 if they didn't die, at least they are weakened)
eh, i'm too lazy to get into it... what are some of your thoughts about stupid things on xbox live halo 2
how the heck did this game get 8 million copies sold when it has so many problems with it??

:p And yet you have that Halo Master-Chief-pulls-a-rocket-launcher-out-of-his-side avatar up.
Need more levels. The other stuff I can kinda live with.

Why would there being no fall damage be something to get pissed at? Its a minor annoyance, if you actually care about such a little thing.
Melee - Its more important than even and I use it much more in Halo 2 than I ever did in Halo. They gave you a badass sword that cut guys down in one or two hits. You think Melee was useless?
I still love grenades and they work great for me. In fact, I rarely dual weild because I can't use grenades when I do. As for the shields, its called making the game more difficult, and was a part of addrewssing the complaint that Halo was too easy.
I read your complaints and I honestly wonder if you playing the same game that I am.
And so no one starts screaming "YOUREW A HALO FANBOIY AND YYOU'L; SAY ANYTHING TO DEFENCD HALO UNTIL YOU DIE!1!11!" here are my complaints about Halo 2.
Dual Weilding - It seemed pretty unimportant. I preferred to single weild with grenades and the dual weilding seemed pretty worthless except in close combat.
Melee - I thought it was too emphasized in Halo 2. I walways found myself in close combat, especially when those gorilla look bastards were around.
Level Design - The stage on the Covenant homeworld was the exact same level repeated about 10 times. Thats unacceptable.
The Ending - If a sequel doesn't pop out on the Xbox within the year, I'll feel completely let down. In fact, it came out of nowhere and happened so unexpectedly that I predicted that Halo 2.5 or 3 is already complete.
Length of Game - Far too short and the ending made it seem shorter than it was. Another reason why I think the next Halo is already done or at the very least Bungie has already spent a long time working on it. Once again, if not, I'll feel completely let down.
New Vehicles in Single Player - It seemed like they were made for multi-player and then just added the the single player game. Not enough time with them or missions using them.
Design Repetitiveness - I would have liked to see something more original in the Covenant vehicle designs. The new ones just seemed like tweaked versions of the Human ones (especially the Covenant jeep-like thing with the gun on top).

Hey, I have to go, but I'll be back on later tonight.

Halo 2's single player was garbage........
In Slayer, the game has a tendency to spawn the person you just killed somewhere pretty close to you. I hate spawn campers.
I hate the emphasis on dual weilding. It's cool that you can have two sub machine guns, but it can be a real pain in the ass. Halo 2 really feels like it needs the Halo assault rifle. I mean, the SMG is crap, single and multiplayer. Even two SMGs dual weilded falls victim to the SMG combined with the pistol or plasma rifle.
The grenades just don't feel as powerful in multiplayer either......
Halo really doesn't invoke that limitless quality that CS does. But that's okay, because CS is really the only video game that has a limitless multiplayer. Halo 2 is going to play out a certain way, and you have to expect certain things.
Halo 2 is a lot of fun online, but as I expected, I have already lost a lot of interest in it. =/

Hahaha.
That sounds like your an 8 year old kid calling his friend.
I dont have any problem with Halo 2...because I dont play it alot. Here is what I found semi-annoying:
No fall damage:
You need fall damage in a game like this, it makes it so you cant just jump down unscathed from a ledge. It should kill you, but a little bit of damage would be nice.
The sword:
The sword pisses me off. You can shoot someone in the face many many times with a shotgun, or SMG, and if they run at you and just touch you with the sword, your dead.
I descovered that many, many, many people use the sword. So why have any otehr weapon if you can just use this weapon that is virtually a one hit kill.
Duel Wielding:
It doesnt make me mad, because its not mandatory. If it was mandatory I would be mad. I just dont like that you cant use grenades and duel wield. But I guess that makes sense, because if you duel wield you have no free hands to throw a grenade...but also if you fall of a ledge you should get hurt. *Glare*
Tanks:
Now, Its not the tank itself that bugs me, its the fact you can shoot it with bullets, throw grenades at it, and its fine. Yet 3 punches to the hatch and it explodes.
Spawning:
Why is it people tend to spawn right behind you?

No, drop, this is someone trying to start trouble :P

No, the problem is you suck.

I use grenades and dual-weild all the time. I use boxer. The problem is, you suck.
Tanks:
Now, Its not the tank itself that bugs me, its the fact you can shoot it with bullets, throw grenades at it, and its fine. Yet 3 punches to the hatch and it explodes.
It's hard enough as it is to get onto a tank. If you let people get on your tank, you suck.
Spawning:
Why is it people tend to spawn right behind you?
Probably God abusing how much you suck.
----------------------------
And yes, Typhoon, it is just me being a bastard. I've had the same problems in the game before, it's just bad luck for the most part. But they're all programed in there for one person or another.
Besides... I've punched a guy who had a sword to death. Boxer beats all. Shoot-shoot-shoot-punch-pass-turn-punch. If you don't assassinate... shoot again.

I would have to say that one of my biggest "dislikes" about Halo 2 is, that it doesn't matter the height that you fall from, no injures occur. So you could be sniping somebody, and to get a quick getaway, boom, you just jump from where you are from. No downfall to you what so ever. Can't say hate, because that is just a strong word.
