Time to mix things up. Meet iPod shuffle, the unpredictable new iPod. What will it play next? Can it read your mind? Can it read your moods? Load it up. Put it on. See where it takes you. Choose from pocket-size 512MB or 1G models starting at $99 and surprise yourself.

Can you set it to do an ordered playlist?

Most likely

As for this iPod, I like it. Seems easier to handle from the looks of it...

Ok, this is just getting retarded.

Like the mini's weren't bad enough, this makes those things look like a bargain.

No, really look at them and I think you'll see what Apple's doing. They're doing something completely different with your music. And possibly hitting a very different crowd. And while I don't think that you should get one if you've already got an iPod, for those that don't it's something really cool.

You stick it in your computer (no cord required, it just slides right into the USB port), and iTunes automatically fills it with about 240 songs. It doesn't tell you which ones, it just tells you when it's done. Of course, if you're looking for order you can have complete control over what's going on. But that sort of defeats the purpose.

Then you take it wherever you're going and it plays whatever it plays. Then you stick it back into your computer when you're done, and it loads a completely different group of songs.

Not to mention a completely different price range from most iPods. The two "Shuffle" models cost $99 and $149 respectively for the 512MB or 1GB sizes.

So I think these will be very successful, more in the mainstream market than the audiophiles.

Good looking but the price might put me off for a little bit. Much cheaper but not worth $100 of my money

dont know why people complain about new products, dont like it, dont buy it.

its good for apple tho cuz they're hitting a little bit for everyone, and hell, this is a lot better then 256mb for $120.

yes, you can make an ordered playlist with the shuffle(love the irony, there). but if you look @ the tech specs, that thing is like..microscopic! I'm satisfied w/ my 20 GB clickwheel iPod, though. :D

I wasn't saying it was a bad product just to clarify. I'd rather save up more cash and get a 20gig/40 gig. But its a nice product. Very sleek, etc..I'd just not spend $100 on one.

It's a cool concept, but you can generate random playlists on a lot of players nowadays. I just don't see the cost justifying the space.
