Wasn't this a Sony game? You wouldn't think they'd let it go to Nintendo... especially with Mario.

Is this controlled with a dance pad (whatever it's called) or with the controller?

It's not a Sony game. It's main appearance has been on Sony consoles. Konami makes them ;)

Nintendo's really marketing Mario out there, more than usual... is this a sign to come?

i dont find it more then usual, there was a topic somewhere about nintendo milking everything they can out of thoes characters, this just continues it.

instead of making up new ones, they just keep putting the same ones in every game they possibly can.

Resident Evil 5, you control Mario
Madden 06, Mario and the mushroom men vs the koopa team.
Metroit prime 3, Samus is gone, now its Princess Zelda in the suit!

dont get me wrong tho, i still think seeing mario on screen with DDR is kinda cool :p

Mario is...

Er nevermind probably a shorter list to type on what MArio isn't doing...

Quite frankly.. Mario has been whored out since day one, I mean look at all the arcade games he was in before and after Super MArio Bros. I don't think it takes away from the character, if they started to do it with threst it may be a concern.

And Mario actually fits in this game since well Mickey's done one.

This is perhaps the coolest thing ever. Seriously. I've been waiting for a Nintendo themed DDR forever. I can only hope it will be done as graciously as the Disney Mix.

That's not the water pack, it's that turtle character that's featured in the picture on the right. :D

I like the idea though, I haven't entered the DDR scene and what better way to do it than through a Nintendo based game.

Well, it's a much better attempt than sticking him in NBA Street or the hideous amount of sports/party games he's featured in. The best part is they're not just using the same characters again...whee, Hammer Bro. And while they still feel the need to use the sunshine theme, there are actually other areas. Snow, how I've missed thee. But still, Nintendo is quite the pimp.

Wait.....

Let me get this straight. It's justifiable to go out and spend 50 bucks on a new DDR game because it has Mario themes and then spend another chunk of money on a Dance Pad?

Ehhhhhh.......

This is why the PC owns all. Open source games = massive customization without ridiculous prices.

No. The two DDR Ultramixes on Xbox and Disney Mix on N64 want to disagree with you.

Man, Nintendo's really macking up to the third parties now. This is hot.

I don't know why any of you think any of the DDR's are based on anything. It's not Sony based, Xbox based, or anything of that matter. They are just dance games,
and to think that "FINALLY" there is a Nintendo based DDR?

I think the older DDR's if brought to Nintendo consoles would've been nice.

I'm saying simply.... if there was a DDR on Nintendo... would you get it? or would you have really waited for the MARIO version?

What they need to do is get some overclock remixes of their Nintendo songs for this game. Otherwise we'll probably just be getting Nintendo songs with even more steel drums added to the beat. After playing that Weezer drum game I decided to watch videos and read about Donkey Konga. I was unimpressed with the song selection and how the bongo sounds didn't even go with a lot of the songs. Should have had the same percussion sound found in the actual song. I have higher hopes for this game since, well, it's just DDR with Mario thrown in, plus it's not made by Nintendo. But look at the shot I posted. Its 4 teh kiddiezz!!!1 Yeah, had to get that out of my system.
