I played these guys today... cheating assholes. they use the standby cheat. ie, press the standby button on their modem, grab your flag (to you they look like they have never moved) and when they have your flag, they un-standby and they appear in their old bodies and score.. get you whole team to do it, and you have 3 flag captures in under 10 seconds... i hate these ***gots, they cause me to level down for it.

i dont think they can, i think it might be too much part of the actual game that a patch cant touch it for xbox.

theres actually quite a few bugs. one wheres theres something about being able to fly with th sword, and one if you keep pressing something as you get out of the hog, you become invisable, almost in a spectator mode. something liek that

Anywho i heard bungie was banning some accounts, to me a sign that its not patchable, if it was they wouldnt bother banning people, they'd just patch it and be done with it.

Goes to prove that PC Games are still better then Console games in more areas, Patches to prevent things like this :D

But i hope Bungie does something besides banning. It's a hard thing to do unless they change the code to where the second you lose connection to the servers, your booted out of the match.

well the funny thing is console people always hated that pc's get patches and listed it as a bad thing.
Always said that the reason they need patches is because the developers slacked off and didnt test enough.

many of thoes people are finding out that thats just not the case. and they are now infact wishing they could get major patches. (PS2 or Xbox)
its not from a lack of testing or slacking off. its that when you take a game online, people are always going to find weird glitches, bugs, and things to use to thier advantage that the developer would never have found.

I just hope next gen consoles will be able to have the games fully patchable, the current ones are only patch about to a certain point. PS2 can patch some very very very slight things, xbox can patch more but nothing major, at least i've yet to see a major patch. the new consoles need to do something to fix that part, im just not sure how without installing the game on a hard drive.

The problem with patches is that sometimes they come out right after the game launches. That showes to me that the game wasn't ready yet.

If it concerns a team game where balancing is needed (strategie with different races?), I can appreciate them.

no, that shows with thousands of people playing right away, some saw something small and easy to fix that a single team of developers missed.
i'd gladly take a update that takes a few seconds to install to fix something that on other platforms couldnt be fixed.

developers do all they can to make sure they feel a game is ready, no game is perfect tho, patches just help to get it closer.

Yeah....I agree with Null. I mean, ever since I got my broadband connection, I love the occassional patch. Most patches fix problems with the game, and as a lot of biased console gamers are now finding out, playing PC games online let alone having to download the occassional patch isn't all that bad!

And yeah....sucks for you guys. I'd say there isn't much Bungie can do to fix this, and eventually, banning everyone will become more of a problem then a solution. Oh well.

as expected. they can do small patches to fix little things. but the big problems with the code they cant do anything with. i hope in the future consoles they find a way to fully patch games cuz thats a HUGE advantage pc's have over consoles. like em or not, being able to patch any aspect of the game is a great thing.

Damn straight. Open source games = good times. I've been playing Half-Life and its many mods for a long time......and it's nice when you can mute people on microphones with no problem, and when you are playing on a well run server that has an admin. Admins are great things - something that might need to be implemented in future online console games. Some people hate the admin system, because some admins can be dicks, but a good admin will ban all the idiots that mic spam or do retarded things.

Oh well, I canceled my Xbox live subscription. I'm just reading this with a slight smile on my face.
