That's good news for fans but why didn't they just hold Halo 2 for Xbox 2 instead of putting out an 'unfinished' version for the current system? I'd feel kind of ripped off. Probably did it for the holiday money.

You know, this just pisses me off even more. Halo 2's single player sucked, and I just cancelled my Xbox Live account because I have more fun playing CS online then I do playing Halo 2.

Halo, the original game, was one hell of a package. Not only did the single player come full circle, but it was lengthy, hard, and fun to beat on multiple difficulty settings. Halo 2? I think not. Halo 2 felt shorter to me, the sinle player was not gratifying, and the cliff-hanger ending sucked. Oh, and Halo 2 recieved way to much credit in its reviews. I don't think it scored under a 9 anywhere, when it really should have gotten a 7 or 8, and that would have just been for its multiplayer content.

The fact that Halo 2 felt like it was cut short was bad enough. Speculation suggested Bungie intentionally did this, but after 3 years of f*cking delays fans deserve better then this. Talk about taking your fanbase for grant it. This is equally as bad as what Valve has been doing, if not worse.

So what better way to make up for a sh*tty single player experience and 3 years of f*cking delays then by telling the fans that the game was intentionally not the best it could be? What's that Bungie, Halo 2 sucked so you could make spin-offs of it to help whore out Microsoft? Again, speculation that Microsoft crapped all over Bungie is now also confirmed. There is no doubt in my mind that Microsoft was the main power behind all this. It's to bad too, because Bungie was one hell of a company, before they conformed to Microsoft.

Anyway, I'm super pissed, and no, I don't think I will be getting Xbox 2, or Halo 2.5. This is the biggest scheme ever, and after waiting for 3 whole years, WAITING MY ASS OFF, expecting Halo 2 to triumph over the original in every way possible, I have no sympathy towards Bungie or Microsoft. In my eyes, both can suck it.

Nail on the head right there. Its a business and they will do what they need to do to make as much as possible. It's a very smart strategy if you ask me, even if selling two separate Xbox's with different hardware is stupid.

I will be waiting eagerly.

*waits for Halo Haters to start screaming about how awful this is and that Bungie and Microsoft are the next coming of National Socialism*

EDIT: Crap, they beat me to it. :D

I'm not a Halo hater though. I'm a huge Halo fan, I was a diehard Halo fan. When I saw the E3 video for Halo 2, two or three (forgot how long it was) years ago, I crapped my pants. Halo 2: The Fight To Save Earth. As that one guy pointed out in his conspiracy rant thing (not a conspiracy anymore), Halo 2 looked like the focus was on Earth. Halo 2 comes out, some 3 years after development starts. There is only 1 earth level, and it sucks. The rest of the game is pretty uneventful, and the game unexpectedly cuts off. What's worse, the game seems like it lost content from the initial developement date, some 3 years back. And to top all that off, the final product, Halo 2, looks like a game that could have been completed with 1 year of work. Screwed over royally? YES DAMMIT. Microsoft got its corporate fingers all over Bungie, and told them to take stuff out of Halo 2 to make it fall short of expectations, and now they are using that to sell Xbox 2. Was that cheap as hell? YES. Was it a good marketing scheme? Maybe. We'll see.........if Halo fans are like me, they will be equally as pissed.

And, on second though, I probably will be playing Halo 2.5. By the time I build my new PC next year, I should be able to emulate next-gen hardware. I'll make sure to emulate that one in spite of Microsoft. Hell, I'll even emulate it on my pirated copy of XP.

Hey.

Have you PLAYED Halo 2? Any of you? Cause I guarentee you it's worth $50 regardless of how finished it is.

But you're wrong, Strangler, it's not quite that good ;)

Well, if you think about it, if Bungie had waited for Xbox 2 to release the next Halo, people would have been screaming anyways. How is this any different except that they make two times the money?

I can guarantee that since it will be a launch title, almost everyone buying an Xbox 2 will buy it.

It will also come preloaded on the Xbox 2 with hardrive for free..

But, my feeling's toward this and Halo 2 are exactly the same as Gremlin's. I couldnt have said it better.

Yeah, but I don't talk about all that much outside of politics. What do you think this is? A Gaming forum?

Sheesh.
