I also do not like using a telephone...I rarely use them unless it's to plan a real life meeting.

If you don't feel comfortable talking on the phone, be sure to tell her so. That way you always have that to fall back on if you make a mistake, and it gives you an excuse to set there for a while to think out what you are going to say.

It's what I do, because this is how my conversations with girls on the phone usually go:
Her: "You aren't talking very much"
Me: "You know I hate phones."
Me: "Want to meet up *insert time and place here*"
