i don't think i'm going to say anything...and i think this thread should be locked before anything begins, which i am sure it will one way or another...

the only thing i will say thought is that i don't agree with their opinions about canada.

Yes, lock it. FAST!

Lock it? Sounds more like an anti-coulter thread than an anti-canada thread...

And that woman's a major bitch-ass...

I can't believe an American would say that. Sorry but that really pissed me off.

No, please don't lock it. I want to see where this goes. I honestly didn't know there were people that feel this way about Canada except in exaggeration.

Obviously this is going to piss some people off since it's coming from a very Liberal news source, but the quotes should still be valid.

The first lady is funny coz she's got pretty much no idea.

The second guy is well........who cares who needs who. That's why I live in Australia, nobody cares about us :D

Angry people like to yell for no reason and point fingers.

I think that if they wanted to make a point, they could have used without acting so childish. But remember folks, this occured on Hannity & Colmes, which is a talk show, not a news room. They can say what they want and piss off whomever they want.

Hehe, I didn't even see the movie. :D I just like it when threads are being locked.

True, this doesn't need to be locked. I have no objections in turning it into a bash-Coulter thread.

Ok.

Wow.

She wants to take over the western part (BC and Alberta) because we have the cowboys, ski mountains, and are right wing.

Huh?

The west isnt more right wing than the east you geographical moron.

Its these kinds of attitudes as to why Canadians hate Americans.

If anything, America needs us more then we need them. We can supply ourselves with things, but they depend on us for soft lumber anbd electricity. Lets see how they would do if we closed our borders to compared how we would do.

Sure we wouldnt have any American TV channels, or cars, but hey, we have lights, and lumber.

And dogsledding? Come on, grab a f****** book. Read it. Its a f****** party. I've never seen dogsledding, never been dogsledding. We dont even get enough snow where I live to Go Dogsledding.

Basing Canada on the East and saying all Canadians Dogsled, is like basing America on the south and saying they all f*** their family members.

Its this reason why I'm so bitter towards the US.

And we would get invaded by Norway? Please. Who have we pissed off? Name a country we've pissed off to any extent by forcing them to do anything, declaring war, policing the world. What do we do? Nothing.

And Go for it, seriously, if the US declares war on Canada, we'll see how many countries back the US....i can think of a certain number....1....North Korea.

And I love how Americans have this "We are the best" attitude, saying everyone depends on them and things, then they wonder why the world hates them.

Read a geography book, those things with words, the ones without the naked chicks in it.

I was rather offended by the comments made.

Why is it that these people know so little about those that live so close?

And no need for the angry post, Typhoid.

The people who offended you won't be reading it.

Well typhoid I can tell you this much, we don't need you for lumber or electricity, think nuclear, we've got more than the rest of the world, we could power ourselfs for ages, subtract the occasional meltdown and were fine, another thing lumber, we have great redwood trees that are protected but that we could easily use so your not needed.. I like canada I don't like the anti-american sentiment.. You right when you say if we attack you who would back us, I can name 2 countrys right off the top of my head, England and Mexico.. Mexico I say because if we close our bourders to you then we might open them to mexico ect.. and england because they would back us even if it meant world war 3...

Bobcat I care about austrailia, :) I really want to go visit sydney before I die.. so... Eh.. another thing typhoid if the US wanted to end the world I bet we could go about it, I mean we could start a nuclear holocost that would wipe out life as we know it, Leaving stragglers but eh.. Have your ideals, I'm friends with people in the canadian army that fly helicopters and I know we would never go to war.. Quit being childish about one woman and think of the big picture were actually part of one big continent so think of us as neigbors would you talk **** about your neighbor and not expect to get beat up ? thats the question..

And now for a cocky rebuttle from typhoid... :)

I think it's stupid that anyone is arguing.

And it will be even more stupid if people continue arguing.

Canada and America have a symbiotic relationship.

Deny it all you want, but we're better off when we're working together. Canada benefits, America benefits. Everyone wins.

Yeah, the occasional meltdown that will **** over whatever is in its area when it happens. You'd rather have millions of Americans DIE from a Nuclear mistake because you want to be cocky and say that Canada is useless. How about you go to the next nuclear meltdown that occurs and see how it feels?

That is laugable. Mexico, most likely, but England? Give me a break. As long as there is still a Royal Family, England would never, under no circumstances attack Canada, unless Canada attacked them first, which will also never happen unless big things change.

I know that the Royal Family has no direct power in England, but they sure do in Canada.

ELLIS HENICAN [Newsday columnist]: We share a lot of culture and a lot of interests. Why do we want to have to ridicule them and be deeply offended if they disagree with us?

COULTER: Because they speak French.

COLMES: There's something else I want to point out about the French. Is it's fashionable again on your side to denounce the French.

COULTER: We like the English-speaking Canadians.

---

I hope someone rips her eyes right out of her sockets and then shoves them down her ****ing throat.

Or wait, I hope someone runs her over, then runs her over again in reverse... and then runs her over again.

Seriously, come to the parts of Canada where there are a lot of French people and say something like that. I can tell you that you won't be a happy person when you leave (if you leave).

I'm sorry, I had to say that.

And Typhoid, maybe the bitch was referring to Alberta, which is usually right wing.

It's very unlikely we would even have a nuclear meltdown. It's much safer than anyone really believes. I've done a lot of research into the subject. Did you know that other than chernobyl, no one has died from the result of a meltdown? It's not just some "occasional" thing. We would be better off using nuclear power as our main source of energy anyway.

And um, I don't feel like downloading that, but they sound like idiots.

O'Reilly is a cockbite too. I just love this little one - http://mediamatters.org/items/200412070004. Just because they have to slightly clean it up for FOX, attitudes like that clearly offer a glimpse into the general opinion of FOX newscasters.

As for who needs who, we need each other. And all of this arguement over who needs who and who's more important than who is just rediculous.

As far as I'm concerned, I love Canadians. I've got no reason not to. I seriously don't understand where all of the negative energy surrounding our two nations is coming from, but I hope that it gets better; because if it stays the way it is, we could be seeing a conflict right in our own backyard.

Dude, he really wasn't being rude to the person as far as I'm concerned. He wasn't talking down to him about being a Jew, he just said that you can't stop people from sharing Christmas feelings with everyone, and if hearing about and having Christmas in his life was to offensive, that he had to go to Isreal because Christmas ain't changing.

Anyway, the point I'm saying is that he was nothing like that crazy Anne Coulter lady.

I have just started reading this thread but I thought I should post a reply before I go out for breakfast. :D

Here's a thread from another forum that I was on.

http://forums.vogue.com.au/showthread.php?t=44515&highlight=coulter

Ann Coulter is an extremist for the right wing like how Michael Moore is for the left. So naturally her views will be slightly different from the rest. Okay, maybe 'slightly' is an understatement.

Here's another link:

I just realised that this is a highly incoherant post. Can't blame me... It's 6.30am and I just got off an 8-hour bus ride from Singapore. I'll try to edit it soon if I ever get sober today ;)

I'm not going to start harping on the who needs who more argument, because as much as I do like Canada (I lived there for almost 3 months while on business) that answer is kind of obvious, honestly.

My point is that there is a double standard that I'm seeing here. The comments made by Coulter and Carlson were made by two conservative pundits, not American reporters or American politicians.

Meanwhile, Canadian POLITICIANS have said much more hateful and insulting comments about the US (I believe the one lady called us all "morons") and I don't see any outrage about that.

Meanwhile two conservative columnists make a few comments about what is essentially a trade imbalance and add humor that is a bit inappropriate but pales in comparison to the straight insults that have been hurled at our country and its leader by Canadian officials and reporters, and we have a three page thread condemning the conservatives while those that incessantly America bash get off scott-free.

Congratulations, liberal America! You've become the new thought police! Maybe you were right about the Orwellian nature of our future, but I'm sure you never thought it would be YOU imposing it.

I actually kind of agree with Strangler. We don't need Canada. I don't have anything against Canada, I'm just saying we really don't have to have it to get by.

It's better to be safe then sorry. It's bad enough there is a Nuclear Power Plant north of where I live. God only knows when the day will come that someone ****s up and causes a meltdown.

Someone could **** up and hit your house with a missle. Somone could **** up and plow into the side of your car on the way to work. Someone could **** up and cause a lot of problems.

I would love it if all of the US's power was nuclear. It would be a lot cheaper, and we won't run out for a very very very long time. Nuclear power is the future. You just have these misinformed people out there that are terrified by the thought of it.
