Look, he has heaps of statements like this one: We'd describe the Japanese DS launch as boring. Then again, we presume we'll look back upon it fondly next week when we're fighting off crowds to get one of the few available PSP units (major retailers Bic Camera and Yodobashi Camera have announced that they won't be taking pre-orders for the system). Stay tuned to IGNPSP for launch coverage of a different flavor on 12/12.
He keeps mentioning the PSP and that it's much cooler. AAAAArgh I can't stand it.

Thats really ridiculous. The DS guy should be talking about the good of that console, not other ones.
I now hope that the PSP bombs just so I can laugh in that guy's face.

How can the PSP possibly bomb??
Oh well, we'll see, we'll see. :)

ign ds is stupid..."oh the japanese launch was boring and slow" That's why the ds sold 500,000 over there in two days right? STUPID IGNDS!!! but no where near as stupid and biased as GAMEPRO... I hate the magazine.. but i subscibe to it....
they are so retarded and biased that I could puke...
mark halo 2 down for bad controls and graphics, mark metroid echoes down for bad sound and bad controls...they are the most ps2 biased thing on the face of the earth.... i hate gamepro because they give scores of 1-5, and never explain why they game those scores... hate GAMEPRO!!!!!!!

I'd be fine with some criticism about the DS but the guy is a spoiled mother ****er. He always thinks that if a launch isn't like the PS2 launch was, its boring.
Since when do launches have to occur with big flashy lights, celebs, and people literally being killed for wanting something. I don't want things like that to occur. But when Sony is shipping an insanely small amount of PSP's, I don't like it. How can any company only produce 200,000 units or whatever. The line to making the things should be a constant thing. Even though it takes awhile, if they only launch 200,000 PSP's in the US, then they need to redo their business. Even though it makes more hype, any company who shafts the amount to let people buy, thats just not good.
But as for IGN DS. I think the guy is gonna get switched. You can offer criticsm against the DS sometimes, but when you blatanly tell people to go buy a PSP but you work for IGN DS, something needs to change. It's like Bill Gates telling people, "Well, Internet Explorer is full of security holes and Firefox isn't as bad. We recommend going to FireFox"

The reason the NDS launch was weak in some cities is that it was freezing, it was a normal work day and Nintendo had a perfect pre-order system. So people didn't NEED to line up... They just bought it when they got out of school or work.
lol. you guys are funny :p
all the sections of IGN work together. so its not really suprising. and often i've seen the exact same thing put up on the PS2 / GC / Xbox sections.
sometimes they do that. Sometimes each section advertises for the other section to get people to visit them all.
Thats really ridiculous. The DS guy should be talking about the good of that console, not other ones.
Very interesting that you should mention this, Because as DS fans, people should be making a big deal about the good reviews, not making a fuss about the bad ones.
I noticed this on halo 2. all the good reviews it got, message boards were up in a huge fuss about gamespots low review for it. Instead of saying how they liked the games and all the good ones it was getting. They were just cursing gamespot and the writer of the review for one rating that was lower then the others.
Kinda backwards really. People always love to focus on the bad parts of things, this thread shows that much.

Anoop, IGN's correspondent who covers gaming in Japan only went to two stores I believe. There are numerous pictures from other stores where the turnout was amazing. A lot of people got mad at him, and Craig, who is the one who runs the DS channel (and the GameBoy one too, busy guy) wrote an essay defending Anoop and bashing the comments IGNers had against Anoop's coverage. Basically his overall point was that those who run their channel don't have to blindly love the system they cover. They're allowed to have negative feelings towards it though he does like the DS. And Anoop...eh, it's his own personal feeling towards what he saw. He's not for any channel but does seem to favor PSP. There really wasn't much need to mention it in his coverage.

Yeah, I can understand if he said "The locations where I went, it was pretty quiet for a launch" rather then say "The whole DS launch was boring and useless, but the PSP launch is gonna be awesome. I think I should go pick myself up a PSP right now. Oh damnit, why do I still have a DS in my hands *tosses in garbage*" :p

I read at XLink's forum about someone else who was angry with IGN's unfair treatment of the DS. My best advice for you is not to let it get you angry, it's not going to hurt sales or effect the DS in anyway. It's only hurting IGN's reputation as a neutral source for reviews and stuff. If you'd like to hit IGN where it hurts though, look for a petition that someone created a couple weeks ago that's blazing like a wildfire. It's called IGNore. It's campaigning the same ideas that you are about IGN's unfair views.

Null's right and all.
But saying IGN is biased is like saying the sky is blue.

Ive hated IGN ever since they took over gamesages.com, and wanted me to pay for some crappy walkthrus when I could go to game faqs.com and get them for free.

I hearby award you the Archivist for that inspiring use of an old thread.
http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/assets/Archivist.jpg
Archivist saves and squirrels away each and every discussion forum message. Do you remember having a bad day back in 1996 when in one of your messages you may have said a few things that were...well, perhaps a little...hasty? Don't worry, Archivist still has it and will post it to the forum if you begin to get the upper hand in battle. Archivist can be a very effective and fearsome Warrior.

Why don't you guys end this meaningless bickering and buy both DS and PSP....experience the best of both worlds... even if the best is slightly bad... LOL
Best of the Worst: PSP Graphics, and Bad battery
Best of the Worst: DS Battery life, odd controls.
In any case if you'd all save money to support all systems you wouldn't have this heap of arguments to clean up.

Well sure if you want to do it the easy way. ..but that would take all the fun out of it. Its best to say somethink like all mario games are the same only little kids who cant think enough to play halo buy mario games.
(That should get them going. :sneaky: =-D )

I would state that you need to be smart enough to appreciate the simplicity and love of Mario games. :)
