I was looking at PS2's on Amazon.com and saw that one reviewer, seemed to just totally bash the PS2, and gave priase and glory to the Xbox. This wasn't to my liking as.. that belongs in the Xbox reviews... not the PS2s.....I thought to myself...... this is truely the case of fanboy-ism. I wrote a review myself for Amazon.com for the PS2 in response to that guy:
The Sony Playstation2 is arguably the most versatile system out there. I dare not say the best, because that word spawns fanboys from forums like no other. I've read the many reviews for this system on here that is simply grotesque. Some reviews are just praise and glory for other systems, which really belongs in their own item slot, not the PS2's.
Without a doubt, Nintendo was the best gaming brand until they dug their own grave. The Playstation was originally for SNES as a CD Addon. However Nintendo dropped the idea and simply gave away one of their most prized concepts. Arising from the ashes came the Sony Playstation, and it rocked the sales charts. Now, evolving into something more than just a mediocre game system, comes the Playstation 2.
The first gaming system to implement a DVD playback system and the first to implement backward compatibility. Think of the PS2 as a new Honda Civic. Works like the old ones, but some aspects are just too new and beautiful to overlooked.
Microsoft in their own right, released a computer. The Xbox is basically a computer. Without a doubt it does tower over Gamecube and Playstation2 in terms of graphics and it has a couple of games working for them, but resting beneath the hype of all that, is PS2's long and loyal line of games and developers who've always produced some of the sickest games I've seen and enjoyed. Someone who buys a console over graphics, is a true newbie...a peon if you will. A good game requires depth and perception. A true game requires a storyline, and something that pulls you through...not just rich graphics.
However, if you have money...Purchase all the consoles and enjoy the best of all worlds, rather then dwelling in the realm of adolescent fanboyism. That's right..adolescent fanboy-ism is basically a person who will buy just one system and not experience anyting else, nor give anything else a chance.
But after I purchased all the systems, I knew that fanboys were missing out on a lot. Buying one system? You should get the PS2 for it's versatility and entertainment value. Got the money? Buy them all...
What do you guys think?
The first few words of the guys supposed "REVIEW" of the PS2 was "This system sucks! You guys should get the Xbox! Gamecube blows too!......" It continued with pointless adolescent rants.....
