Damn you, I was just gonna post this :p
But here's the info. for the lazy people
In a interview in the recent Famitsu Magazine, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto revealed some new, interesting details that have been previously unknown to Nintendo fans. Below are some details that Mr. Miyamoto revealed:
* Nintendo understands that online gaming will become mainstream within the next 3 to 4 years, therefore, Nintendo will try to become motivated in the online area.
* The Nintendo DS will go online sooner than many people first believed.
* Square Enix and Nintendo are working together to take the Nintendo DS online.
* The recently announced Mario Baseball is a joint project with Namco.
* Mario 128 is still, in fact, in development for the Nintendo GameCube. Miyamoto was unable to reveal the release date of the title.
* Nintendo is currently working on a new Pokemon game for the GameCube. Mr. Miyamoto also added that it is in development with strong allies.
But I think with Revolution, Nintendo is gonna center around Online after seeing how well Xbox Live has done.
The new Pokemon game interests me. If its a full fledged 3D RPG Pokemon game then bring it finally! But if its just another Pokemon Stadium then shame

DS online! Now that's what I'm talking about!
What?! Mario 128 is still on Gamecube? I'm happy, yet miffed...
Then how the hell is Revolution going to get into the market? They must have back-up plans now. Must.
Gamecube is now a lot more attractive.
DS online is a nice surprise. Same with the Namco collaberation. I'm sad to see SEGA/AV aren't doing anything though.

Only news that really suprises me is the Mario news...
everyone thought it was going to be a Revolution launch title.
But I think with Revolution, Nintendo is gonna center around Online after seeing how well Xbox Live has done.
im betting they wont. this is Miyamoto, not the nintendo president. (who still doesnt believe gamers want online games) Plus he only says nintendo will TRY to become more MOTIVATED. thoes words arent too reasuring at all.
i think they'll attempt a few online games fore sure. but i dont think it will be anything major.

Miyamoto has alot of saying around Nintendo. He did create alot of the mascot's we still know to this day. I don't think Nintendo is gonna sit back and still say "Online isn't good enough yet". Seeing as how recently, broadband took over dialup for number of users. And by the time the next consoles come out, broadband will be even more mainstream.
But I think Nintendo will learn the mistakes this time around and improve on them. Online gaming, more games dealing with the mascots (not sports, but like a Mario game at launch, maybe a new Zelda in the first year), some new characters that don't have to be "gimmicky" as everyone calls everything at Nintendo nowadays.

Mario Sunshine sucked so bad I can't imagine where they are going to take the Mario series.......let's just hope it doesn't involve giving Mario a paintbrush....=/

Nono of course not.
That's Kirby.
I still hope they make Mario 128 for the Revolution. Unless they have another Mario game for that launch.
And yeah, they need a Zelda game pretty soon. But don't rush it, it has to be a perfect and original game. Not some crap like TWW.

I actually liked Super Mario Sunshine. :)
And I think the news of a new Mario for the GCN is outstanding...I'm not patient enough to wait. :D Although you guys are correct, in order for the Revolution to succeed they need some AWESOME games from launch, and Mario is one of the ones that will do it for them. However, I dont plan to buy a revolution (or any next gen consoles), so I'm hoping desperatly Mario 128 does come out for the GCN. I hope they go back to how Mario 64 was, with stars, not shines, and no water pack. I liked SMS, but Mario 64 is tied with OoT as my favorite game of all time.
Mario Baseball slightly appeals to me, but probably not enough to warrant a buy.
Realist Zelda...that's orgasm material. I absolutely cannot wait for that game.
When I think of Nintend and online gaming I have to agree with Jonbo. I think Nintendo has leanered that online gaming is the way to go, and will start incorporating it into its systems. The inclusion of online gaming in the DS is evidence that they are trying to enter the market, and hopefully Revolution will have something like Live. Mario Party, Super Smash Bros., and Mario Kart would have an entire new appeal if I could play online.

So thats where Square Enix went... to the DS.
Anyway, finally I hear some good news from Nintendo, I've been backed up for awhile...

Did you even play Wind Waker? Because if you did I highly doubt youd be saying that...

call the gimmicks as we see em. nothing to do with being made by nintendo.
and i have no doubt we'll see nintendo 'tinker' with online games. definently wont be thier main focus... but sony and MS have already done thier tinkering and will be a step or two ahead of the game.

I played it, beated it. Most disapointing game ever for me.
It was basicly OoT with cel shaded graphics and a boat. Only shorter. :green:

I actually loved it. :) I enjoyed getting to collect the triforce again, like I have been wishing I could do since Zelda for the NES.
I also thought that the story kicked ass.

No actually I'm not.
The puzzles were boring.
The dungeons were large, but very few.
Some of the sidequests were impossible (you actually had to have a color pictobox before you could take a picture of the moon for the guy - AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!), others were boring.
Instead of searching, this game had collecting.
The music wasn't half as good as OoTs, which wasn't half as good as MMs.
The fighting wasn't cool. It just didn't feel right.
Don't get me wrong, it was a good game. Just not a good Zelda game.
As someone here once said: Zelda games start off with a 9. If it gets a 9.8, that means it gets an 8.
So basicly IGN gave TWW a 6.

I kinda have to agree about TWW not being that great. If it was so awesome I'd actually feel like beating the game, but I don't.

I think they should wait with Pokémon untill the launch of Revolution.
On the other hand... that IS perhaps 2 years away.

In all honesty, I would play a Pokemon game, if It was like the old Pokemon games...but Online...or have an online option...like tournaments.
Hmmm...speaking of Pokemon...my friend recently, and out of effing nowhere started playing Pokemon. He got re-nerdulated. He walks around all the time at school playing Pokemon. Its hilarious. Because we're in grade 12.
