A REPORT said Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has warned Asian governments contemplating using Linux that they risk being sued for using the operating system.
According to Reuters, Ballmer repeated his claim that Linux breaches 228 patents, but didn't elaborate on what these might be.
Earlier this year, firm offering insurance against litigation claimed that a total of 283 patents could put Linux users at risk.
Of those, Microsoft owned 27, it was said at the time. There's fears that Microsoft might invoke litigation if it feels it's up against the wall.
But if it ever does, Sun Microsystems is free as the wind, because it's got an indemnity from Microsoft against such legal action.

This is what really pisses me off about Microsoft. Any larger company/organization/country even that is thinking about using Linux is getting bullied by Microsoft.
So does this mean that any Linux users will get sued for all they got for using Linux? How about I sue Microsoft for all the times my XP crashed completely and had to reformat my computer, losing everything and charge them the bill for the hours lost reinstalling it.
Microsoft is scared of competition. That's my take on it.
