I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. I love Tom Hanks and it looks "enchanting" (for lack of a better word). My room mate seems to think it looks like a completely ridiculous movie. What do you all think?

CNN says the humans (including Santa) come off as creepy because of their lifeless expressions. The book is such a classic, heartwarming Christmas tale so I'm still going to check it out. Tom Hanks is great so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm not going to wait for the holidays though, I'm going to see it as soon as it comes out.

It looks like an okay movie, but as Stu said, definitely not something I'd be excited to go out and see in the theatres. The only movie that I know is coming out for the holiday's that I'm excited for is The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (http://lifeaquatic.movies.go.com/main.html) which is the new Wes Anderson flick. It looks marvelous.

Yeah, I have that dilemma. I am not a big fan of paying $7 to see a movie in the theatres but I would love to see Polar Express for the Christmas season.
Saw the trailer months ago. and ever since the exact words i and my friends have been using is CREEPY. the movie looks absolutly creepy. the faces dont move at all except for the mouth going up and down.
its funny now to see all the movie credics using that same word. creepy.
