A website that allows Americans to apologise to the rest of the world for the election victory of President George W Bush was overwhelmed today after a report about it on CNN.

The crash of the site reflected the deep disappointment of many Bush opponents about the election results, and their feeling that the victory of the right wing president could have disastrous effects around the globe on issues ranging from war and peace to the environment.

The website, sorryeverybody.com, features pictures of troubled US citizens holding up signs of apology. It was the brainchild of neuroscience student James Zetlen who kicked off the popular new pastime with the message "Sorry, world, we tried."

"As our so-called leaders redouble their efforts to screw you over, please remember that some of us - hopefully most of us - are truly, truly sorry," Zetlen wrote. "And we'll say we're sorry, even on the behalf of the ones who aren't."

The missive kicked off a torrent of apologies. Other signs include such messages as "Sorry, world, we deserve it. You don't"; "Sorry, world, at least you don't have to live with him"; "Sorry, world, scientists are sad, too".

Democrats will not live this down for a long time. They need to get over it. The world is not going to end because Bush is reelected.

This is a better way to express resentful feelings than using violence. I think it's healthy and I approve it.

Extra Credit: Any GameTavern members who would like to present their very own 'Sorry Everyone' picture will be given a special moderator +rep award.

Elected.

Bush was elected.

You cant be RE-Elected, if you were never elected the first time. The word "Re" states you have been elected before, when In fact, Bush was appointed.

So re-elected? No. Elected? Yes.

The IQ stat is great. I don't really trust IQ's that much, but that's a pretty nice correlation we've got going there...

Maybe. But that doesn't mean they could've made a mistake. And it certainly doesn't mean that they can't apologize.

Just because the loudest people didn't get what they wanted doesn't mean it is a mistake. It just means they are more adept at making their complaints heard.

And, just for the record Typhoid, the Supreme Court did NOT appoint Bush. They stopped the manual recounts that Gore kept on vouching to the Florida Supreme Court to make happen. The Supreme Court stepped in to stop the state court from continually rewriting state law concerning the election. Bush had won every recount up to there, so that allowed him to win the election.

So, he was elected by the people, because the votes went his way. The courts actually kept Gore from stealing Florida out from under Bush.

Kept Gore from stealing Florida? Thats rich. Yes because we all know that alot of the votes wernt counted, alot of votes that probably went to Gore. And as a result of that, Bush won. :p

Meh, Not my country, have fun getting drafted. :D

Right, exactly, because Bush had the most votes total so he won because of that....

Excuse me, I meant the most votes in Florida. We all know he didn't get the popular vote.

Typhoid, if you really want to know what happened, actually read the case study instead of just what you hear from the news or your friends or where ever you got that information. All legal ballots were counted, Bush was still ahead. Gore was pushing for interpretation of disqualified ballots, which wasn't in law, but the Florida Supreme Court was changing law to allow more recounts to occur.

Are you going to keep saying that every time someone says re-elected and not elected? Seriously, no one cares. The point is, Bush is not going to be the next Hitler, and he will not send his nation's armies to conquer the world.

1) Yes, I am going to keep saying it.:p
2) Apparentl, someone does care, because I was corrected.
3) I never compared Him to Hitler (unless that was a generally aimes statement.)
4)Same as above.
