i got my copy Saturday, and have been playing for the past two days straight, I will post impressions later on tonight, still too busy playing!!!

ok, we've been playing crap loads of multiplayer with 4 people. I love all the new arenas. Waterworks is freaking huge. Too huge maybe. The sword is wayyyyy to strong. i literally killed my "equal" 15 times to 0 without dying once. The sword is almost uneven/unfair. you jump higher, you throw grenades shorter distances and your melee attack must be even closer to hit someone. Most melee attacks are weaker from before. The Rifle will be the new pistol. The pistol fires really fast and is good. THE NEEDLER IS WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE. rate of fire decreased since E3. Needler is without a doubt the worst gun in the game. The lockon rocket launcher is the best against vehicles. Just freaking cool!


Vehicle Hijacking is not easily done. You will get ran over a lot. However, I did manage to jump from my burning banchee onto my enemy's banchee like 1000 feet from the ground kicking him out and having him fall. too bad you cant hurt him by falling though.

I kept saying to myself "this would be cooler with 16 people" for things like assault and the larger levels.

as far as single player mode, the graphics are better, the levels are BIGGER and there are some pop up problems here and there. Mostly textures changing resolution before your eyes... coagulations has a problem with strange black grids near the portals (you've seen this on starfox 64)

everything you saw in the commercial trailer happens within the first 3 levels so dont assume anything. Thats all for now, it's nappy time.

Beautiful game. This game deserves the scores if you've walked into it with absolutely ZERO hype, like I have.

You know what's gay? There's been two occurances of me and my brother getting stuck on co-op. The one that really pissed me off was when you're flying around in the covenant level - just before we finished, our ships blew up. We were stranded on this damn platform for 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do. We eventually tried jumping as far as we could to other platforms, but no, Bungie made extra sure that is was JUST A LITTLE TOO FAR. My brother died on the very edge of one of the platforms, even. That's damn gay. Anyways, eventually one of the Heretic's ships came over and started shooting at us, so I tried jumping up, shooting, and hijacking. Eventually I got it.

And the pop-in isn't as horrible as people make it out to be. I saw it ONCE in gameplay, and it happens in most of the cutscenes for maybe a fraction of a second. I don't see what's so horrible about it.

P.S. Multiplayer with even just two people is fun.

Need a little help. Right now I'm stuck trying to liquidate the Covenant Prophet Regret, and I just can't get through the seemingly never ending waves of honor guard. I'm thinking of just picking up a plasma sword and going Conan on them.

Anyone have any advice?

I think that's the place I'm stuck also. Well not really stuck, just continually losed and eventually turned in for the night. As far as I can recall, I'm in a very large room, more length than width, opposings stairways at the end. On those stairways lies in wait two of those giant alien bastards, and man are they kicking my ass in close ranged. Couldn't find any swords to up my advantage, and I ran out of ammo on my best gun, so I'm stuck firing crappy dual alien pistols while jumping around frantically in a small enclosed stairway.

MY HALO STORY RANT

I am very pissed off that this game didn't go where it was supposed to go. It was the exact same thing as the first game. Just showed the covenant side. We didn't even get to see the new Halo blow up like cortana said she was going to do. If i'm not mistaken, the E3 demo showed a huge battle being taken place on earth, not some one attack Bullcrap and leave. So the covenant said attacking the earth early was a bad idea. Big deal, so they'll attack it when freaking halo 3 comes out on xbox 2. THAT IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE ON THIS ONE!

I'm sick of the flood, I'm sick of the covenant archetechture, who are the buggers and where did they come from, who is the little shop of horrors plant, and why is cortana teaming up with him. Why hasn't cortana gone rampant. She is supposed to after 7 years. There are 7 different rings, where are they all? Is the artifact on earth the one that will remote trigger the rings? Is it the one at Chala base? Is bungie outta their freaking minds?

THE ENDING SUCKS, TOO MANY QUESTIONS UNANSWERED!

But they make their money off of multiplayer, not single.

Yes, some people buy it for the single player, but what do most people want to do? Play it over XBL.

I think they should have concentrated more on making it on XBL. I dont know what types of like, games you can do with it on XBL, but they should have a single player mission style game, but you have a squadron kind of thing. Where you play through the storyline, but with other people. That would give it a way better feel IMO.

But I have yet to play this game. *Looks at Dyne* But i will. Im trying to plan to stage a Halo playing party somewhere.

Yeah, I finished it in Co-op. It's kind of ridiculous in a Matrix-style way. I think if they didn't have Master Chief's last scphiel it would have been fine where it was. Something really tells me that Microsoft told Bungie to put that last scene in there. It just feels tacked on. "OK LET'S GO KICK ALL OF THEIR ASSES. *black screen... anticipation... black screen... anticipation... black screen... CREDITS... confusion... disgust.. acceptance... disgust*"

And that ending video still doesn't make sense. WHAT questions does the plant have for some AI?

Overall, I'm really satisfied with the game.

Joseph Staten: "When we got back from E3 2003 -- we ran into a big problem. We had wowed the show attendees with our live, game level demo; but when we tried to load a Beta of that same level onto a regular Xbox, it couldn't handle it. We had been running all of the trailers and previous footage, including the E3 2003 New Mombasa level demo from our Xbox dev kits, which in actuality, are more powerful that commercial Xboxes -- something that we had not taken into consideration.

So that's why Halo 2 SP sucked so much. They made all their levels for the development kit, and probably now made all the levels for xbox next. I wonder if we get to see Halo 3 as a port of the "original" halo 2.

The ending of the "i love bees" story.... covenant we massively invading earth. E3 trailer with earth getting nuked. And in one of the bungie updates, aparently Masterchief was jumping from piller to piller and it made the Bungie princess cry. I dont remember that happening. *kicks bungie in balls*

Elite Operative asks: Will there be downloadable updates and maps? Will there be new Campaign stuff?

Yes. We have not announced a schedule yet, but we will be making new downloadable multiplayer maps. They rock too. I've played a couple. There will likely never be downloadable Campaign content, however.

Will playing Halo 1 allow me to understand the story better? Everything was pretty basic and straightforward until the ending which didn't make any sense to me...not even remotely. He's going to Earth to end it, then theres credits, then some plant thing again.... uh, what?

Well, the story for Halo 1 is better and more complete but I don't know if it would help though. Captain Keyes was the father of that new Female captain and Johnson was in the first too. The first would explain the flood and the whole deal abou.........yeah, you should play the first one.
